I completely agree! I have a VNA analyzer because it was inexpensive. Yes, it does the job, however, it is not as easy to use as one of these. Being in amateur radio, and making various antennas for different frequencies, this is the best tool you could have in your tool box. Thanks for sharing. I placed an order for one of these. Note... I am also guilty of smoking transistors.

The rigexpert is a good quality unit, stay away from mfj as they have poor quality control and 10 of the same units can read different readings. I've used the rigexpert to tune the input tune on amps before by manual keying the amp by applying ground to the keying relay and having the output of the amp hooked to a dummy load.

Bought an AA-35 on your advise on this video a couple months back and an Ameritron awm-35b to mount on the dash just to keep an eye on things. This is the reason I've had to hold off ordering my box. Sure am glad I got that analizer when I did.

My friend and I share a RigExpert AA-35. When choosing bands, there is no 11 meter to choose from, so the frequency has to be manually input. Other than that, I like it very much. No way I would go back to using the MFJ 259B after using the RigExpert.

Dude, this was a great video very informative, but something is bothering me. I have variable power and variable dead key on all my rigs. What's the best wattage to actually measure the SWR at if you measure it at 4 W it gives you one reading, but the SDR changes as you increase the power to 10 W so I'm wondering what is the optimal wattage to test SWR and go from there thank you and thanks for helping us learn

I have a AA-35 Zoom and my mobile setup, I'm using a 5' skipshooter antenna, tuned the antenna for middle of the band. When I run the R-X sweep of the antenna, it shows me my antenna resonates at 27.195. I chassis grounded the frame to the body, all doors, hood, and rear hatch. My issue is with reflect coming back from antennato amp, 1.2 on 1&40 and 1.02 on 20@50 ohms. I'm running a 1X2 driving a 12 pill, rg400 coax what could be causing the reflect? How much reflect are you getting? Checking with a bird meter
@817Teamsters
3 жыл бұрын
@@Rooster_Radio yes checking with bird, like 8 watt's bit then it swings backwards. I've tried changing jumper lengths in between 2 amp's, changed coax from big box to antenna, nothing works. When I received my amps a couple months back, my big box was shipped separately from the smaller driver. It had damage from where FedEx dropped the box. Could that be the issue? Like I've said, I've changed jumpers and everything nothing helps.
