This live version is far better than having the girls singing it. Dude did a great job, much closer to David Palmer’s original recording

Yea, honestly, the female singers while talented, did not sing it in the proper key, this song is from a male perspective not some loungeyt une.

Yes he's good and does it well, but I love the girls singing it. It's another way, another version and still a great song. What's right is this version is nearer of the original one.

You'll almost never remember a song without a hook and this song has many. The Words & Melody are soul mates. The transitions from one hook to the next are seamless. Theres so much originality in every instrument it's amazing. I dont know a soul who doesnt remember it, or where they were and what was happening at the time, including me yet I've never heard a band cover it. I guess the identity of it is just too strong to replicate.

Listening to this song since I bought Can't buy a thrill in 1972 and it's great to see it (very well) performed in this new, young setting. The singing, the sound of that organ, the nice twist in the arrangement. Really great! Thanks for the upload!

@@harpoon_bakery162 Agreed, Dirty Work is David's vocal masterpiece, richly rounded out by Donald's exceptional keyboard accompaniment. The song is one of my favorites on the album. I don't think there is a recorded version of Donald ever singing lead on it, (although I could be wrong).

K B The original arrangement was not the sound Fagen and Becker wanted. Fagen has said that he despises their early work and that it wasn’t until after they stopped touring they found their sound. The original sounds like something Cetera would have made.

Koselige I love it when people that know nothing about the topic, speak up and prove it, Part of your Chicago flawed theories? Dirty Work with Palmer at lead is considered a classic, oh Reeling in the Years, Do It Again, Show Biz Kids, King of The World, all were crap? No you're an idiot.
