This is interesting. I should have given the old vcore pro a chance because I recently picked up the percept 100D and how you described the vcore pro is exactly how I feel about the percept rackets. Very solid, stable and firm but not at all uncomfortable. I never felt I needed more power, nor would I say it's a powerful racket. It's just very well balanced in terms of performance. I absolutely love it!

Thank you so much for answering my question!!! It’s enormously useful and interesting to hear your thoughts about a racket later on during it’s lifecycle. Personally I came to fully appreciate my VCP 100 when I lent my second frame to an opponent whose string had broken. I was then shocked at how much his game improved. 😂

Today I took my new old vcore pro 97 2022 310g to measure the swingweight and to my amazement it showed a sw of 297, while the percept 97 showed 330. measurement made on the same machine. At Yonex they say that the vcorepro has 316g of sw and I was scared to see 297g. It actually pleased me, as I can add a few grams of lead without harming my arm.

Agree on the fact there is a lot of recent racquets that just 'go on the backburner' for people YET they are probably the same or better. A great example of this besides what you have mentioned is the Yonex VCores from 2018 the PURE RED ones which I REALLY want to trial in 95 and 98 versions. That racquet I think is great for one-handers. I The VCorePro 97 2021 seems to suit one-handers a lot and was a serious upgrade. I never liked the previous version. Agree also that there is something missing in a lot of racquets now. I was hitting today with a friend and he showed me the old Head Tour 2.0 frame the likes of which Thomas Muster played with. It felt completely different than ANYTHING else except for the Pro Staff or the VCorePro 97 and maybe Tecnifibre TFight or TF40s. By coincidence a few days ago in a session I was able to hit a bit with a VCorePro 97 and it felt solid. While I liked the 2018 VCore 95 racquet more you couldnt go wrong in using VCorePro 97. The 'wow' effect is starting to become highly annoying in the 'industry'. Wilson Blade v8 was not really better then v7 and v7 is probably not better than older v5 and BLX which Tsitsipas allegedly uses. Head has done well apparently with Gravity's but not much can be said for Dunlop aside from FX500 line. This goes back to the posts I made on one of your previous videos about how technology is misused and abused and everything is now Planned Obscelence aside from the very few firms who actually want to win the market by quality and innovation. The problem though in Corporatism is that every firm wants to reduce 'costs'(losses) and increase profits because a good business is defined as such. Often they are short sighted on the 'bottom line' and forget that you cannot be a little better than the opposition but A LOT better which means outputing the highest quality you have access to. As for racquets I enjoy testing them but I am just on the hunt really for the best racquet for my game and hopefully for future reviews I provide this helps everyone else Look forward to your next video

the VCore Pro 300 is a great racquet and has all the qualities you describe; nearly bought one but wanted a fraction more power. A little added weight could have sorted it, who knows? Those who can supply enough grunt won't have that problem, and in fairness Yonex has other racquets to cover that off as well. I'd also like to try it again.

Hi. I have one of these. Great stick. A good alternative you could find is the pretty unknown blade 100 v8. Some kind of mix between a blade, a pure strike 100, a Gravity and this vcore pro 100. Weird that Wilson doesn t communicate more on this great stick that is maybe their best right now. If you don t know it, I m sure you ll love it !!! 😉👍 Nb : the ra is 62 as the V7 and not 69 as Decathlon said. And Wilson answers this if you ask
@CzechTennisGuy

Hi, it might be a good stick as well for intermediate players. But the flex is higher according to Tennis Express for example, it says 68 RA. 60-62 is only for the 98 versions.
@Le-Chuck
Жыл бұрын
No, it s Decathlon that said this when they had the exclusivity and made everybody wrong but guys on web (and also I) asked directly to Wilson and they answered "it is 62 as it was for blade 100 v7" (look at tennis warehouse on thé page of the blade 100 v7), "the only thing that changes is the handle that gives more sensations (as for the 98)" Plus, I also have the 98 and the 98s and the flex is similar. 😉 It s 62 and impossibly 68.
@CzechTennisGuy
Жыл бұрын
I still doubt it. The 100 version has 22.5 mm beam which should be stiffer than a thin 20.6 mm beam of the 98 version. And one more important thing - don't forget that Decathlon shows unstrung swingweight/stiffness specs on their site compared to Tennis Warehouse, which shows strung specs (for swingweight, stiffness). Unstrung 68 RA can be between 63-66 RA strung. So the numbers might be closer to the 65 RA strung. A strung racket has lower stiffness because there is already force applied from the strings that makes the racket softer.

@@CzechTennisGuy well, as I said, a simple mail to Wilson and you have the answer which was for me more or less : "Forty five helps softening the frame and keep it in the low 60s". You find other persons that got same answer. But the main thing is : I have a lot of racquets AT diff ra (vcore pro 100 green, pure strike 100 v2, blade 98, 98s, Gravity mp, radical, ezone 98 and 100 etc...) and the blade 100 feels like my Gravity (not auxetic) a 60/64ra max but Nevers as a 66/70 ra raquet. I had elbow problems in the past that makes me sensitive and picky to that now.... Anyway... My first thought was : you should try it ! 😉👍 Sure you like it and make a great review that could help people find a really good stick. Thx for your answers and good detailed videos. Have a nice day !!!

@@Le-Chuck It could be an advertisement answer from an official. You can't trust them because they are trying to sell these rackets to as many people as possible. It makes no sense that a racket with different beam width has the same RA. The technology doesn't matter in that situation if the beam is wider. It seems to me they are trying to sell the racket as it has the same feel as the 98 which obviously is not possible. So I doubt the official. Let's find some real proof from someone with an RA machine.

I too just bought the Vcore Pro based on your review and fitted it with Black Code 1.24. I have never played with a 97 before and as an intermediate i approached this racket with trepidation, thinking it might be a step too far for my level. My first impression was that this racket feels quite different than any other i hit with before. It really feels so solid as if there is no air in it and it feels really well put together. I have never felt so much control on delicate shots like slices and drop shots. It was as if the racket had magic powers. However on hard topspin ground strokes it felt a bit unforgiving. I don't know if this comes from the new srtings which needed to wear in a bit or the smaller sweet spot or just me trying to hit as if it's a spin machine. How do you think thinner strings like 1.20 would work with this racket?
@CzechTennisGuy
Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your donation Christian. It's always nice to see someone gets inspired with my videos and shares his story with others. You describe it really well and it's similar to my experience. The rackets feel more filled and full inside. There is no typical vibration of the frame, but the whole racket transfers the information to your hand like one solid piece of equipment, rather similar to a baseball bat let's say. When talking about the strings, I enjoy Black Code strings after first 1-2 hours of play when they break-in a little bit and they start generating more free power and the sweetspot gets bigger. You can try stringing the racket softer or going down like you said with the gauge to 1.20 mm. But expect a quite big loss in durability. I used the 1.28 mm version and I got a great amount of hours of play (8-12 hours), even when the tension dropped, the strings worked well. Now I use Dunlop Explosive Spin 1.25 mm and I like it a lot. It feels like a stiffer version of Black Code. Actually it's super stiff, but I like it a lot, loads of spin and superb control at full swing. Durability is also very good, at least 6 hours of high-performance play (match). So if you can, try the Dunlop string, too.

@@CzechTennisGuy Thanks for the reply. Yes i thought it might be the case that the strings were just new. What do you think of Ice Code for this racket? Tennis Warehouse gave them a phenomenal rating although i'm skeptical.
@CzechTennisGuy
Жыл бұрын
@@christiansantfournier2794 Ice Code is a very unique string. It's a low powered string with great control, good precision and good spin potential. I liked it after few hours of play, when it breaks-in and gets little more softer. It's quite muted, with almost dead response, that gives you loads of control on full swings. The main issue is the low power profile. You need to generate your own pace every time you hit the ball. So I recommend it only for advanced and tournament players. It's a good string if you are a big hitter.

Thanks. The PAVS is a mystery to me. I only tested Pure Drive VS once. I think it's a similar racket with just a tiny different feel to it. The new PA98 might be little bit softer and even more control oriented. But I don't think it's a game changer compared to the PAVS. Have a nice one.

I didn't try the Dunlop CX 200 98 so I can't tell. Both rackets are meant for control and precision. Maybe the Yonex will feel more forgiving when you get used to the Isometric head shape, which is great particular for flatter, faster shots. But for spin, I would say the Dunlop with classic oval head shape might feel better.
