Where can I buy the car? Can you provide the recommended link to buy?

I just have some quick questions about how different electronic components are getting their power supply. I have the same Anker battery as you do. When you say to connect that battery to the ESC, do you need a special adapter to connect those two components? Also, is the servo being powered via the Rasberry Pi, is it possible that running it through the Rasberry Pi could "fry" the Rasberry Pi. In my setup, in order for the servo to work, I need to supply it with 6V and also 5V from an Arduino into the servo board's VCC pin. Where are you getting this second source to power the servo, or are two sources not needed to make the servo function? Thanks, I'm a beginner so please excuse my naivete.

hello did you get your answer about how to connect the battery to the esc if so please let me know. I am stuck on the same thing.

So is this being run with 2 batteries? The standard one in the car chasis (which I couldn't see in the vid) plus a second battery for the Rasp Pi? I think the motor still requires a current from the battery, but you are probably running everything from the single battery?

Are you using two batteries? One for the motor and one for the pi? I know others have asked but it really looks like you are using just one battery. How come you don't look concerned about frying the pi?

Thank you for the nice video, and tutorial. Just as a suggestion, typically, Red is for power (VCC) and Black is for Ground (GND). For a beginner, I would most definitely suggest the Sombrero as it eliminates any chance of wiring errors.

So, I bought an rc car but it has a 5 pin server and I was wondering if I could do this same thing with that

You may have gotten a car with a built in ESC, that will not work unless you buy a new ESC. I cannot say for sure though

@@AdamConway I took the server apart and all it is is a normal server, but it doesn't have the "logic" circuit. It is just hard wired for the potentiometer and motor. So could I just change the code so that the servo "logic" is done on the board itself? This is the insides. imgur.com/CZdzgUZ

Hi Adam, is there any suggestions if my radio control and EC are combined together and the motors are two pins, so can I still use the same process or ?

Quick question. If I built a car from scratch (using dc motors and servos with ESC), will I still be able to connect the ports same to the sombrero board? Or do I need the wireless controller module found in RC cars?
@AdamConway

In most cases you can use the sombrero

Hi. Is the car running brushed motors or Servo motors at the wheels? if Brushed motors, then how can the Servo hat control them?
@AdamConway

Hi Stephen, it is a brushed motor, there is an ESC on the car chassis that it is connecting.

Really a great video! I would like to convert my RC car into something like this, but I have encountered two problems: - the Servo has 5 wires instead of 3, with totally different pins - the control on the brushless motor connected to the receiver has 2 wires instead of 3, which however would fit my Servo Driver lefting one pin free, but I don't know if they could work anyway Is there any chance to solve this problem without buying a brand new RC car?

buy another servo, or convert the 5 pin to a 3 pin, you will need the servo control board, so easier and super cheap to just buy another servo, just remember, power, ground, and signal... and you should be fine.. :)...
