What you are seeing in this interview is the classy, talented, beautiful, humble, smart, women that we fell in love with many years ago, and remained loyal to all through the years. Compared to her peers of that time, or even present time, there was something very real about Donna, and that made her a very approachable star. I will miss her always.

She was ahead of her time. Female, black, smart, visionary, trailblazer, accomplished, independent. She shattered many glass ceilings and helped break open many formerly closed doors. The system tried to minimize her but she never gave up. And she still succeeded in a way true to herself. As Quincy Jones said, "She's got the goods!"

Back when I worked in Dallas radio, I had the privilege of having dinner one night with Donna Summer, her husband, and representatives from her record label. Best of all, I got to sit next to her throughout our dinner. She was the kindest, most down-to-earth celebrity I ever met. Nothing like the "diva" you might imagine her to be. An absolute delight to be with. I was so saddened when she passed. I consider her one of the top five or six female vocalists of all time. Just a phenomenal talent, and an even better person.

She mentions both that she is playing at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, as well as recording for an album, which would make "Once Upon A Time" her old album (it was a doulbe-album, and her second of 1977). "Last Dance" appeared originally on the "Thank God It's Friday Album", released in the first half of 1978. Donna contributed to it, but so did many other artists. Both albums were featured during the interview. The tracks recorded live from "Once Upon A Time" were completed during her Universal engagement, after her appearance with Carson, and they comprise a good portion of the tracks for the double-album, "Live And More!" - released in August, 1978. Her appearance on Carson seems to have been immediately prior to the 1978 gig at the amphitheater. "MacArthur Park" was released with that album, and it became her first Number 1 single on The Hot 100/Pop Charts. "Live And More!" contained both "Last Dance" and "MacArthur Park Suite". ... "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls" came around the next summer (1979). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_and_More

I truly believe you. I recently saw an ad from the late 70s about the VCR and didn't know that. I thought they came out in the early 80s. I do remember that they were bulky silver color with knobs on them. I guess the same with Atari home game console. I thought they were introduced around 1982 but instead they first came on the scene in 1977 I believe.

Her mortal hologram was annilhated by a fixed binary star 72 light years from our home. its spirit was decapitated by our hero Perseus/Joshua, but Medusa sprang back to life and hung Perseus on a tree in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago.She then installed herself in 1948 as an astral empress. But in this epic battle of the astral gods,Perseus sprang back to life 3 days later. They have one more epic battle maybe 2021. Ras El Ghul may have a bad snake hair day. Donna has gone to the third heaven where she has started a new life. Donna Summer's faith in Perseus/Jesus has never failed her.
