Mate, you are a Promise of the Real stand-in. Outstanding reproduction right down to the lift-offs (5:55), timing (8:22) and harmonics. That's a high bar but it gives the song real distinction. Keep it up. (You Neiled it).

WELL done ! I'm 70yrs old now, and I bought "After the Gold Rush", when it came out. The best of Neil's work, in my opinion. (Of course, a few others are close)! I listened to that album for a looong time. I learned all the songs and you nailed it, voice..and all. I had that vocal register ' back in the day ', so we covered 5 of Neil's songs while touring. Hearing you sing/play this song was gold. 🥇

Great Great lesson! Great song thank you for this. Lots of nuance for those who want to bring it. For all if you don't know this.. Slloooooww the tempo down. It's bring the proper weight to this song. This will bring it out from a well executed performance transcending it to the true message of the song. Watch Neil on the old tapes. Great lesson. Ones of Neil’s best. Love it’s social, being real in life message Just out of interest he plays the G chord in the chorus differently sometimes as well. He plays it as a G7 chord but the b7 note is on the 6th fret second string. Bass notes as you describe (there’s a variation in the Bb Am Em and another G5 variation chord as well). Amazing artist! Bw

Hi Justine. You know that hard chord, the Bb. I checked it as it didn't sound right. On the live at the BBC version, Neil does not play the lowest D string on that chord, so basically it's an F shape starting on the 8th fret. Thank you Justin for the amazing Neil Young videos, they are really helping me allot in this tough time, please do more. Much love to you. Xx
