just holding the clay without smushing or leaving finger prints...is a skill.
@nanuq83
4 жыл бұрын
It truly is. I was literally just talking to my Mom about that. I'm new to sculpting and it's something I have yet to figure out. I can keep the fingers off, I even have all the tricks of the trade secrets to removing them, but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove smudge or finger indents. That's something I hope with time I'll figure out too.

I totally see your point. Though these specific bricks were supposed to have texture. In fact she added more. Maybe prints blended in there? In other videos I’ve seen her use a smoothing tool on the front and sides while one finger holds the part going against the diorama. I know nothing other that pouring and cleaning greenware which never gave me a problem with prints while cleaning it before firing; while it’s still pliable. Maybe polymer behaves similarly? Do you with “Ghost” type clay? Maybe the trick is to be like Demi Moore and care more about the sex than the clay?! 😉

I’m cracking up because my cat’s ass would have been right on the purple clay. After it stuck to her fur she would have hauled ass around the house trying to out run it, lol. Anyway I love this brick work. It takes more skill to make it gritty and derelict that to get everything perfectly symmetrical. Amazing as always.

Can you do a tutorial for beginners? Like how you get your painted clay to look so realistic, or like tips and tricks to make things easier? Or just making something simple to start to and other video getting progressively harder? What you make is so cool while I do have some skill it feels hard to follow along in some places and I would love to be able to make things like you do

So is this a different lady from the one that usually does it? The style are different. I liked it when the outside was white like snow. It would have given better contrast if it had stayed that way.
