I was a full time dasher for three years and decided I was over it. Got a shit job at Chipotle for a couple of months while I found a good job and I gotta say life is much better now. Get out people. The freedom of being your own boss is cool but those days are dead with all the requirements to even get a decent order.

Pretty much everybody who can get out has already gotten out. Most of the people left do it because they can't legally get other jobs, or because they're so antisocial they can't work around others or stand to have a boss.

What reason does Doordash have to raise base pay? The orders are getting delivered. I blame the drivers that take lowball offers. If we were running Doordash and could get the orders delivered for $2 most of us would do the same thing.

Eventually there'll be NO base pay, no tip option for customer and no support. DD will just send you addresses that say _"you're more than welcome to contact customer and request a tip after completing delivery" (doordash reserves the right to retain a portion for service fees)_ 😑

The $1 per mile is a great BASE for orders, but people forget to factor in the merchant and delivery location. $20 for 10 miles looks like a good order, till you see the merchant and KNOW you will wait 20 mins MINIMUM on the order. So dollars to miles is NOT the only factor to be considered. As for taking pictures of menus, they do that BS so they can offer merchants that dont contract with DoorTrash on THEIR site. IJS

Taking Pictures of restaurant menus so like hired spy's? Why aren't they asking the restaurant owners to do that? Maybe the restaurant owners are being asked to sneak out and take.a picture of the drivers car for all we know. Make sure it's the same car on the app and that no one is helping the driver. Reminds me of the story about the girl that expected her significant other was cheating on her. She orders food delivery and then asks the driver to see if there's a 2020 red Honda civic parked in the driveway and if there is can he please take a picture of it and she'll tip the. $10. Hi MoshiMoo :) I think people don't tip anymore because everything coming and going is asking for a tip. It's ridiculous. For lunch today, I went to a mall up the street from work for some bourbon chicken. The employee that rang me up said "There's a question at the top of the screen you'll need to answer before swiping your card." I'll be damned. It was a tip screen. It totally caught me off guard. I interacted with TWO employees there. The first one spooned my food onto a divided plate and the second one rang me up. AND THEY WANT A FREAKING TIP? I tipped $2 anyway trying to just be nice. Then I sat down to eat. I didn't even get three bites in and tossed the entire thing in the trash. It was disgusting. Nothing like I remember it from 6 months ago. Now I feel like a sucker for sure. I won't be tipping anymore like that. People are probably overwhelmed with all the requests like that for a tip. It doesn't make it right not to tip someone who you know is depending on it, but I really believe that's a huge part of it.

I do earn by time in my market. The hourly pay SUCKS and the tips are low. That being said, DD give a lot of time for each delivery on earn by time. When i say a lot i MEAN A LOT. Delivery that would take 15-20 mins after pick-up gives @50 mins to deliver. That being said it makes it WAY EASIER to dirty stack. Now doing so makes you even MORE $$$ than before since DD paying you $.25 a min. If you stack say an UE and it adds 10 extra mins to your DD delivery, you just made an extra $2.50 on top of the stack $$ amount. IJS

😅 could be the reason why drivers eat the customer food, but the ones who complain about they order is the NO TIPERS one 💀 especially if DoorDash sends 2 orders to the driver and the one’s who TIPS always gone get they ORDER first so if they order and no tip they food always gone be COLD and nasty depending where they order from 💀😅 people need to take it in consideration and not rush drivers IF they didn’t TIP and COMPLAIN

I know it will never happen but would like to see base pay at $1 a mile first 5 miles and.50 cents every mile after. Also a mandatory 20% tip or $3 minimum tip, whichever is higher on the cost of the order. Yeah DD would lose a lot of customers, but I think they would eventually adjust, just like we have to on the lower pay scale. Maybe DD would actually make money since they would not be subsidizing the orders with no tips and could save a lot of money cutting a lot of the useless customer support people. Then instead of giving orders to the higher AR dashers who can’t speak English and have no idea what they’re doing they could change the system and give them to the dashers with the highest customer ratings and completion rates and deliveries completed. These are the dashers you would want delivering right. I used to order DD every week or so but with the people I see doing it I can’t, don’t want it because they touched the bag. There are filthy dirty stinky people doing DD and it just brings all of us down, I see it every day. Sorry for the long rant.

One, you proposal would eliminate so many customers that DD would almost instantly go out of business. Two, even if it worked, you'd have so many drivers and so few customers that nobody would make any money. Three, if a tip is mandatory, it's not a tip. It's a fee.
@ChazR25

Can this company sustain at their crazy valuation going forward? The drivers aren't making any real money, so surely people are looking for alternatives and customers continue to pay crazy fees. How long can this nonsense last? The company appears to be on thin ice from my outsider perspective. I haven't dashed in almost 2 years but I still watch videos. I'm thinking DASH may be a nice short candidate in the near future. Unfortunately I missed the top ~$140 level in March but this $110 level its been hovering at could be a nice opportunity as well.

It's time to start thinking outside the box people. You are an independent contractor! Like the moosh for example. When he ends up taking a charity case dropping off a chick fil-a sandwich at the VA for two bucks he needs to start pitching all the residents at that VA. Hey text me your orders by 11 am tomorrow and we'll cut out the doordash and/or the uberESADMF middleman charging you 30-40% in fees. Make the VA into a catering stack and save the vets some money and make yourself more money at the same time. Turn that single $2 order into five $2 orders or whatever. Set your own rate like an independent contractor. Same goes for any business you been dropping off at. Pool those customers up. Do one or two places for lunch hours a few others for break time snacks. Construction sites used to have food trucks to do this kind of stuff. Hot coffee and sweet rolls in the am, sandwiches for lunch and snacks in the late afternoon.
@foxmulder7616

Good idea! That would be more for catering orders imo but that's a great idea. It wouldn't be hard to just "steal" the customers probably, same with wag or Rover.
