@@lunablue745 I believe so, I've checked some of old versions when I still had access to the MGM TV channel about 15 years ago(we no longer use cable nor satellite tv in my home). But the few DVDs I got unfortunately were from most recent adaptations. Would love to have a copy of the classics. The one with George would be the one that Dorian redeems himself.

@@crossetler_2184 it stinks that now we have to pay so much money to have access to television! I know if you do a search on KZitem for "classic movies", there are quite a few good ones that come up for free viewing. I'm pretty certain the version of Dorian Gray with George Saunders (1945) Dorian not so much redeems himself as ends himself by destroying the painting, right after he kills poor Basil.🙁

Hi Tony. Well I'm 2 hours in and not even a tiny bit bored. I hadn't expected the writing style to be so very... um modern? It plays like a *film* drama. Each character clearly defined and recognisable if not completely relatable. The genius of Oscar Wilde!, and excellent production values, (thank you Tony). I thought that I would never have the patience to experience this work in it's entirety, (having tried once before with a different recording). I'm very much looking forward to listening at every chance I get. 💖👂🏼🔈📚🙏

I’m not surprised you went to acting school; (you mentioned this at the end of another book, not here). I always find that the best audiobook narrators have done some acting. I have read this story and seen the films multiple times, and this is a wonderful portrayal of Dorian’s descent into depravity. I adore Oscar Wilde’s writing and his understanding of the inner workings of men. His understanding of women, however, was completely caricatured. His creation of Sir Harry’s marvellously genteel, manipulative character is one of my all time favourites. Great read. Thanks.
