There's a good chance the BIOS will not support a 360k drive. I have a similar-aged HP I can try it on. I've never tried putting any 5.25" drives in it, but you have inspired me!

That’s good to know that it could very likely be the BIOS. I’m still having a hard time getting past not getting a seek light.

@@AlanGrassia So I just did some testing with my HP Z800 which is one of the newest systems that I have that still supports floppy drives. It only sees one floppy drive no matter whether I have the 3.5" or 5.25" as primary. But it does see the 5.25" (1.2meg) if it is set as the A: drive. I still need to find a functioning 360k floppy to try that.

@@BigBadBench Thanks for that tip. Appreciate it. I’m looking for a reasonably priced 1.2MB drive and/or a reasonably priced 486 or older PC.

The twisted cable end for 3.5 drive A:. B: drive (5.25), return the jumper back to shipped from factory (section 4) except the jumper DS1 is move to DS2. Power up the computer and hitting the F2 key until go to BIOS setup. Check to see Drive A set ( 720K or 1.44M for 3.5) and Drive B: set (360K or 1.2M for 5.25).

@@stevenretroworkshop2113 Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that. I don’t recall there being a setting in the Dell BIOS for drive capacity, so @BigBadBench might be right about being too new of a PC. I’ll reply back when I can test.
