Dan, your beard looks great! Please don't trim too much off. As for the knot, you can tie the knot once or twice whatever, and tuck it up under your chin, and it will look like you have a short beard. If you want to braid your beard,let Sam help you with that. I'm sure she knows how to braid hair. Just a thought. Good video 😊😊😊.

Hey Dan!!! I seen this one video where the guy starts with the beard knot at the bottom, rolls it up behind the front of the beard so you can’t see it, then makes a pocket under the chin and tucks the rolled up knot in, and it now looks like a short beard. I think that is not only great for working with power tools, keeping you safe, but people will think the beard got trimmed significantly, or just think it’s a short beard,….until you untuck it then POW! Instant big beard!!! I am keeping my beard around 7-8 inches right now because I seem to get other kinds of beard knots when it gets over 8 inches, but I will get to 18+ inches someday! AI appreciate all of your hard work, research, and awesome content brother! Thank you!

Hey Dan, I just when did your expert opinion. I emailed Honest Amish and asked the question if I could I wash with their original soap daily. I know you and others have said you should only use that type of soap once a week. They told me the PH balance for all the soaps are between 8-10. And if I had a dirty job every day would be fine, but they recommend every other day. Honestly, I only want to use it 2 maybe 3 days a week because I love it. But i'm coming to you because you are to me the most knowledgeable beard expert. Thank you, Eddy
@DanCBearded

I would highly recommend not using that more than once a week. Being soap it’s only possible that the pH is between 9-10. If you use it more, they sell more lol

Solid knot options here. Definitely important to have these options when you need to keep the beard away from hazards or want to limit how crazy it gets during activity. The double knot has been clutch for me, as a normal knot falls out too easily.

I’m new to braiding but enjoying it. I like the look you had doing both sides over top, but I’ve been doing on over and go from there, which I think is a standard braid start. The key for keeping it rolling for me is to lean back, chin down, and press it against my chest as I go along. It really helps keep the parts separate and under control as you go. I focus on placement and look along the way.

I'm at 7 in Long with my beard and a few weeks ago I ordered hair ties. I'm not a fan of the knot. However, I'm a huge fan of braiding. I braid my hair every night before I go to bed. I found out that I don't need nearly as much of product in my beard at night when I braid so in the long run it's saving me money. Also, I'm not dealing with the polling when I roll in bed.

Shout out to ladies that know how to braid ask and they'll walk you through and even show you. Viking braid I split to three take far right over middle now far left over what's now the middle than the original middle is far right, keep doing that rotation. Takes about 5 mins to get it nice and even with practice. Beard twist takes less than a minute so that's my go to on windy days.

Do you think trimming a couple inches off a long beard will help promote new growth faster, or would that be counterproductive? I feel like my length has plateaud and wondered if trimming would help it grow longer than it is now.
@DanCBearded

Trimming has absolutely no impact on growth rate. You grow from the root and the ends have no communication method with the root

If you have a healthy beard, absolutely not. There is no breakage associated with these methods at all. If there is, it’s a beard health problem, not a method problem.
