Hi Dr. Z, when you turn on the board at 25:55, you do so by plugging a cable in a home-built switchboard (plugged in your power strip), which has connectors so you can individually wire L and N and also has a tap for PE and which at its back connects to the power supply of the board. What is the benefit of this setup, compared to a simple DPST switch, for example? Do you use it to connect something in series? Keep up the good work, your channel is great!

Yes very good guess! I build this a while ago when I wanted to measure power consumption of an electric device. This open wired power source lets me connect an ampere-meter in series to the unit under test. Besides I use the tap for protective earth to discharge crt tubes. Thank you for your compliment, enjoy the vids, any questions just post them!!! ;-)

I have a regular binocular microscope with 10 times magnification and I am just holding the camera at the eyepiece... so the picture is a bit unstable unfortunately. I use that microscope a lot - I usually solder under the microscope.
