My mom had a mastectomy, she had cancer stage 4, 9 chemotherapies, 23 radiotherapies and 10 years under cancer medication. Years after the mastectomy she got a reconstructive surgery, now her breasts are better than before and she loves them. My mom is a cancer survivor, it's been 19 years since her diagnosis.

My daughter, 40 years old just went thru exactly the same thing than you are, Delia. I was sooo unbelievably amazed of the way you have been facing every step of your cancer treatment. You are Delia, just like my daughter was, a warrior that the cancer can never bring down. Watching you going thru this, mesmerizes me as you look just like my daughter, not only physically but also emotionally. I have soooo much admiration the way the two of you have faced this very difficult disease. You have a few hurdles to overcome yet, but you are at the end of this marathon. My daughter is about one year after her final reconstruction and she hikes 1 hour a day with her dog and is back on her peloton and just started golf a few months ago. I am telling you that because I want you to know Delia that before you know it, that is exactly where you will be, enjoying every minute of life with your amazing husband Derek. You are so lucky to have each other……your husband has an amazing, sweet and very strong wife and you , you have the support and the love of your very special husband that is so extremely important with what you are going thru physically and emotionally. You're lucky, you have a lot of support. I'm a single mom and went through ovarian cancer all alone, 2 major surgeries, 6 rounds chemo, surgical menopause and now double mastectomy because of brca mutation. The hardest part is going through all of this alone and the very few people who are there even abandoning you in that situation.

Hey Delia, I'm sorry you have to go through this. I had my own bilateral mastectomy just over a year ago when I was 30. My diagnosis was similar to yours -- IDC, stage 3a, triple positive. My biggest advice to anyone going through this is to find a support group with other young women as soon as you can. Post-treatment is actually one of the most difficult times for a lot of women because you're finished with the "fighting" phase, and now have to face a new reality. I'm sure you've felt that way some already. YSC is a great organization for women diagnosed under the age of 40, because our experiences are quite different than older women going through this. They also have local chapters in a lot of areas. Listening to other women and getting advice and support is extremely liberating and powerful. We're now part of the worst club, with the best people. Hang in there, it definitely gets better. Sending love.

We went through this medical process with my mother about 7 years ago. It was difficult to see her deal with illness, our stalwarts matriarch. She also healed many in her line of work. But with the double mastectomy and reconstruction, she is able to not have to keep looking back and also was able to feel like a woman again with new boobs. She’s active and confident. She’s more spiritual. She’s also doing well. We’ve advocated for Breast Cancer Awareness and research. She still has to take medication for the rest of her life. I just want to express how much I admire you. When I first watched your vlog, I saw this young woman who seemed to have everything. But then I started to see your spirit, kindness and goodness. You and your husband declare your faith and testify of all your mortal experiences. And still you work and give. Blessings of healing and light to you Sister in Christ. What an awe inspiring calling to have from Heavenly Father.

I had bilateral skin sparing mastectomy. They were not able to save my nipples due to size, on the non cancer side and I had pagets disease as well as IDC on the other side. I had a 9 1/12 hour surgery. The drains are the worst part. I had 10 more surgeries before my reconstruction was completed. Radiation causes some complications. But it saved my life so I’ll never complain. Radiation is a walk in the park compared to what you’ve completed Delia. Worst part, is having to go there daily lol. But I’m like you. I had cancer, cancer never had me. I refused to let it steal my joy. Or take away who I am. I’m a happy person by nature, and I wasn’t going to let it take that from me. That is mine. I just celebrated 5 years NED (no evidence of disease) watching this I relived the loss of my breasts. It’s a loss deep down I will always grieve. I have acceptance, I love my reconstruction, my tattoos are incredible. And I don’t miss not having to wear a bra lol. But I miss sensory feeling. It’s just skin. It’s no longer my breast. I’m here for you cancer sister. In any way. Please reach out. 💕👐🏻

Sending love and prayers to you both on your journey. My 29 year old son had leukemia when he was 13, it was the hardest thing we ever had to go through, watching someone you love go through such a awful time is horrendous. You are a very brave caring women who has a wonderful loving family surrounding her. 💕

You're a champ and inspiration, Delia! Feel the love and thoughts of the community that surrounds you. And Dylan, you need a hug. I see that pain and worry in your face because I've seen in it my own face with my husband's cancer journey. Feel the Lord's arms of comfort around you.

Delia, you continue to be my ABSOLUTE HERO! Your smile is everything, and your hubby is so right, there isn’t a more beautiful human than you, no makeup, just pure beauty inside and out. I wish I could say that I didn’t cry throughout this entire video but I did, however they were tears of love and hope and PRAYERS AND MORE PRAYERS! God has so many big plans for you and Dylan, and we all continue to pray for strength and healing! You are the toughest woman I have ever encountered and you continue to fight this battle with a smile, beyond inspiring. Sending you tons of love and hugs and so so so many prayers and I know that the Man upstairs will get you guys through this and come out on TOP! Nothing can stop you Delia, you are seriously a warrior and having these videos to one day show your kids makes me cry once again. Even though we have never met, I feel like I know you and I feel as though you are a best girlfriend (I promise I’m not being a weirdo), I just have so much admiration and love for you, and I’m so positive that you will come out on top and this will only be part of your story to tell. Thank you guys so much for sharing, I hope to one day meet the most brave and most beautiful human on this planet we call Earth, and that is you Delia! Heavenly Father will get you through this, I just know it and I feel it. Dylan you are such a warrior too, you have been the absolute best support system and most amazing husband to your beautiful wife, and I also send hugs and prayers to you, because I know that you are going through it with Delia, and again I just know that Heavenly Father has you both wrapped tight and this will only be a part of your story one day. Ok I’ll stop rambling, thanks so much for sharing this, I will forever and always continue to send love and prayers for you guys and I am so glad to be able to watch your journey, and I promise my tears are filled with love and hope and prayers. Can’t wait for the next update, Dylan and Delia, WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Delia, you are such a strong and brave woman!! The look of fear and anxiety before surgery was evident, but you smiled through the uncertainty. Sharing every detail is no doubt a great source of encouragement and enlightenment for others battling cancer. Others may not have identical paths, procedures and treatments, but they're able to glean so much valuable information from you sharing your journey. Thank you for sharing! I'm continuing to pray for healing and joy for you. Love you girl!!❤

Appendix cancer survivor myself, two surgeries, drain tubes and all so I know how that part feels. Eight hours of surgery with heated interperitoneal chemo three years ago, been cancer free ever since, and prayer is the best thing anyone could do for me at that time. Had friends praying from as far away as Brazil, SA, wonderful church family here praying, people fasting, etc.

Delia, I've been praying for you. I had a double mastectomy 12 years ago this month. I remember most everything that you have been going through. It's very disheartening that you developed a terrible infection. It sounds like you are on the other side of your infection. ❤❤🙏I'll continue praying for you and Dylan.

I’ve just started chemo for stomach cancer. I have to say that she is a huge example to me. I feel so alone right now. Some of my friends r saying they can’t just watch me die. So they walked away. Thank goodness for my medical service dog, other dog, kitty and fish. Thank u for inspiring so many. Much love from Kentucky, Lesley and Service Dog Jake. (And of course my other pets. ) we r thinking of u all and praying for u all. U are my hero. And I hope I’ll someday find a man like this. #relationshipgoals. U are a true inspiration to all who r struggling with many kinds of cancer.
