Excellent lesson here. Really helps me develop my skills. Converted keyboard player looking for a little fun. Like you said, we have the rest of our lives to play, so why not explore new things and have a blast. I'm loving the journey. Keeps my keyboard timing sharp and ....did I already say it's just fun. LOL Thanks!

@@insertmetalusernamehere Rudiments and drum rolls nice and solid tight now. Having more fun, need some parts for the other Pearl bass pedal but enjoying the experience of hitting skins immensely. Glad I didn't slack off and was determined to feel comfy at a drum kit. 67 now and not quitting nearly. It's fun besides...two sticks, tons of possibilities and tutorials galore online. Thx for asking. Cheers, Blessings....faster reflexes as we age is a good thing.

Nice jared. This really inspires me to mess around on the kit with these double strokes. Considering I was on my high school drumline for years, my double strokes are pretty solid, I'm thinking more about the melodic approach. Great video!

Hi Jared this is T. from Music Mans Ladies Band. This "Double Stroke Rolls" lesson is great, yet REALLY challenging for me. I'm practicing the technique and 3 bar exercise. At this particular time Im keeping it at 60 beats per minute :) Your lessons are a great addition to my weekly lessons with Steve. Thank you!

Hey Drumeo! I've got some questions that i find it difficult about drum practicing. How do you proceed the routines? I mean shall i combine 3-5 different routines to one big one and how do i progress in this? Increasing the speed? Or getting it more tight? This is stopping me from progression. I'm getting confused about how i'm suppose to get tighter, faster. Shall i take one thing at the time? It's so hard because you can always get faster and tighter. Please help!

Luke Rainforth your right keeps getting better as your left does too. Since your right was better in the first place, your left will never be as good as your right hand. You need to practice more with your left until its the same as your right

I know how to use double stroke in snare but it's to hard to use as roll
Tighten your snares-why do most drummers these days have the "death rattle" snares in all of their playing? I know at times for certain styles this is needed to replicate the style or trend but should not be a default for players. Get a distinct sound-requires one to have to have clean doubles especially on multiple bounce rolls where many can only get a clean multiple bounce by having the snares dragging the floor. Every multiple bounce should be articluated and heard not relying on the snares to rattle for you. Teach good fundamentals is my suggestion then deviate from there for effect. For what it is worth.
