Wow! His ball-striking positions look textbook! This is a great swing to emulate - for any level of player.

Pretty good golfer 20 wins in the era of Nicklaus Palmer Player Casper Littler I call that stiff competition Watched him play a few times amazingly accurate swing Shame about the British Open on 18 but he hit one helluva bunker shot on the road hole to save par Rest in peace Doug you were one fine golfer

Exactly during the 60’s...as poetic as it is it would never compete today. Just like a Luke Donald who I think swung the club as good as anyone.

I miss the days of poor kids who manufactured unique swings and went on to tour success. Now it's just rich kids who've been coached from the cradle. Younger folk scorn the old timers and think the athletic players of today are way better. But I'm really not so sure. These guys learned the hard way. They had tremendous drive and grit. They were playing for dinner and the rent, not 100K for coming in 10th. What I do know is that I respect a Sanders a lot more than anyone out there today.

When I lived in Palm Springs had the good fortune of meeting Doug. He would come to the range and hit balls where I played and practiced. He was always immaculately dressed and was just a wonderful guy. I would always make sure I would be hitting balls right next to him and always strike up a conversation. Man did he have some stories lol. He had to be in his seventies at that time. I was taking lessons at the time from a good friend of Doug’s, Jimmy Powell who recently passed away. Both of them will be sorely missed and I feel very fortunate to have known them both.
