"A pool of knowledge"??? Not so sure. He dog-whistles, incessantly, to the Christian nationalist segments of both Europe and America (think Ku Klux Klan). He implicitly pushes a Great Replacement Theory, devalorizing immigrant culture while valorizing European culture. European culture is, and has ALWAYS been, demonstrably violent and rapacious. This is why Europe's elites support the ethnic cleansing in Gaza almost unanimously. Meanwhile, the European occupation of Palestine is the actual and ongoing Great Replacement🤷🏼♀️

No Col MacGregor, if you put Venezuelans in Norway they would do fine - but Norway isn’t subject to swingeing sanctions like the Americans are imposing on Venezuela. They can’t get access to their bank deposits, they can’t buy medicine for their health system - a Washington think-tank (CEPR) estimated that as many as 40,000 Venezuelans died in 2017/8 because of the embargo on health products - insulin etc. The only ones protesting the regime are those who lost out to the peasantry - the rich landowners and their families.

4:13 Douglass should know by now that the reason why Venezuela, and virtually all the natural resource rich countries countries in the world that try to be independant and developed as they could like, China, Russia is because the Washington/Wall Street corporate empire wages seige warfare (sanctions) against them usually followed up by kinetic war occupation and the plunder of the victims assets and resources. The Washigton empire has military bases in Japan and Germany and therefor are ready occupied colonies, hence no need for sanctions. Japan economic miracle terminated (contained) by the Washington regime about half a century ago and it did the same to Germany in an instant by blowing up it's gas supply infrastructure. The Washington regime bankrupted Britain and took much of its Empire to make sure it would never be an independant powerful industrail nation ever again. The Washington regime is a brutal empire that is worse than the Roman empire.

McGregor, don't dabble in economics, not your forte. Venezuela in under unilateral primary AND secondary sanctions, which means any country trading with Venezuela will itself be sanctioned by the United States. So any country interested in trading with Venezuela will have to choose between trade with Venezuela or the United States, only China, Russia and other countries under secondary sanctions can afford to ignore those kind of sanctions, it means near complete isolation from trade with the rest of the world, and it would devastate any other country in the world except Russia. It cannot be imposed on China because it would destroy the US itself. Furthermore: Venezuelan only has extra heavy crude oil, bitumen. And it is very sour (4.5% sulfur), and extremely polluted with dissolved metals. It has to be diluted, and heated with steam to lower viscosity in order for it to be pumped up. Then it requires a much more complicated refining process than for example Arab Sweet Light Crude, which a crude built American V8 will have little trouble with without processing. This makes Venezuelan oil much more expensive to produce. So if the US uses the oil price as a weapon, which it does at times, Venezuela even more than Canada will always suffer first. The US will have to raise Taxes in order to re-industrialize, the rich will flee, like they already do the EU and UK. And then the rich will start to terrorize the US in exactly the same way they do Venezuela the past two decades, you can place a bet on that. 😉

If col mcgregor is put in charge in venezueka the country would be very successfull. His culture wouldn't be a problem and venezuelans would praise him as the messiah

Yes, a pity for his credibility. He should avoid commenting outside Ukraine and the Middle East. Too many stereotypes and shortcuts.

This guy seemed a little more clued in, on the, "Middle East", than most mainstream commentators. B U T, seconds into this clip, I'd had enough of the selective twaddle, on the history of Europe. Even aside from the despicable history of the Brutish Empire, the export of terror, corruption, poverty, by European Empires, (look at French history in Haiti), Spanish history in S. "America", (how do you suppose so many non-Spanish people came to speak Spanish as a first language ?), Belgian history in Congo. Of course I'm not denying there has been good stuff too. Mostly good stuff that has alleviated the suffering that the more powerful Europeans have imposed. For a clue as to how some of the worse bits have developed into a series of conflicts in the, "Middle East", please look up the, "Sykes -Picot Agreement", and its origin.

We love Europe. The French and British, however, have a rich history of brutal colonialism and institutionalized racism.

He was right to say that Venezuela causes this crisis to happen to them. However lets not minimize the US role in blockading Venezuela and forcing literally the entire world to do the same thing. Venezuela started the crisis, the US made it 50x worse. And the funny part is, Americans don't like millions of Venezuelans to come to the US. If you don't like it, you better start pressuring the government to lift the sanction. It doesn't matter who is in charge of Venezuela, it shouldn't be the US businesses to be concerned over Venezuela. I also agree with him on Trump. Trump isn't going to ditch Israel. He has been lobbied by them and he will be no different than Biden. If he wants to do something different and refused to follow orders (and I believe he did want to), they will kill him. The last failed assasination attemp was a warning. Trump has learned his lesson now.

You are right. Americans should not be concerned about Venezuela. I am not concerned. Not concerned about their food insecurity or asylum claims or their fears of violence. I had rather they expire in the gutters of their homeland than bring their violent culture to the US. Not our people. Not our problem..

China was indeed the richest country in the world for most of history, but that's only true when you look at GDP. However, when you look at GDP _per capita_ Western Europe was already the richest region in the world by 1500.

OUR GRAND CREATOR GAVE US the VARIETY OF CULTURES AND NATIONS. WHEN WE WORSHIP OUR CREATOR and NOT the CREATION, ie other humans and their LACKING IDEOLOGIES , we don't allow ANYONE to lay PHONY, CONTROL-SEEKING GUILT TRIPS ON US FOR our Culture. Variety is THE SPICE OF LIFE. STOP GUILT TRIPPING. IT'S WRONG and UNNECESSARY.
