I’ve traced my ancestry back to the 1100s and Dover. My 21X’s great grandfather was a Warden of Dover Castle. Thanks for this video.

When I look at these I always get a, how do I even explain this, a nostalgic feeling about continents breaking apart. Just look at that structure. It is so beautiful and yet points to such a brutal ancient past in a time before man when the continents and very world reshaped itself. I have never seen another place on earth which looks like this and gives this feeling. It just screams out to me about the ancients in so many ways.

Hi Steve, great video and thanks for posting. I had the pleasure of flying over the White Cliffs in a Spitfire and felt the emotions of seeing the Cliffs, as the young pilots would have seen battling to save us and of course for bomber crews returning home recognising these as a sign of safety, was an emotional experience. I recently walked Along the Cliffs and visited Dover Castle and learned a lot from your video, which was well narrated, photographed and edited. Greetings from the UK🇬🇧

My mum grew up there during WW2. Shelled and bombed, it really was Hellfire Corner. It took years to clear away and rebuild all the damaged areas.

I've had the pleasure of staying here for a few weeks. Most likely I'm moving soon but I plan to revisit when I can afford to really see everything. It's a great little town that history buffs and nature lovers will appreciate. 10/10 would recommend 😍💚

Dover comes from the Welsh word Dwr fa which means water way. When Britain was invaded by the English or Anglo Saxon they could not pronounce the R so it became Dw fa then the F was changed to a V so becomes Va and the W in Dw becomes O hence Dova and then DOVER.

England it is an island whose surface is being eroded. The cliffs of Dover are the best example of this. Submerged breakwaters must be built to reduce sea erosion. Obviously, these breakwaters have to blend in with the environment, so on the surface, they must have a rocky appearance.
