Lived here, the road 244 at night has herds of Elk and wild horses from four to eight running across the road. What a sight.

In Dec 1959 to Feb 1960 we went to Cloudcroft. Probably on Swallow Pl. Snow was 4ft deep. 10 or so uf us 8-10 yr olds took a sled to the top of the road and a couple of kids stood on the highway and watched and stopped traffic so we had a clear shot straight across the highway! Mid January is still the record cold for Alamogordo, -14F in Jan 1960 and maybe 2 ft of snow. Threre was an apple oracher near the train trestle a few miles outside of Cloudcroft. U pick 'em apples were 5 cents lb. I saw once a train on the trestle which I think was a rare event for C. 1960

Mid March to mid May is the time of year when many of these lil mountain towns have the winter ski season behind them and are resting up for the summer deluge. The time of year when these business folk take their vacation while they can!!!! Nice time to visit if you are there for the scenery and quite isolation because not much is going on.

The grub at the Western Bar and Grill is very good also. The chicken fry is as big as a hubcap...2 or 3 meals! That beer truck parked in the middle of the street was making its weekly delivery up from Alamogordo.

Good to know…but for those of us who have just stumbled onto your videos for the first time with this video, what are you driving? We. Watch a lot of EV videos at my house, but are not familiar with what kind of charge goes with what car, so we haven’t figured it out yet. What kind of EV are you driving, good sir?

If you Google White Sands Missile Range, you can see how big it is. It covers a huge chunk of this area. You can only drive through the part where Alamogordo goes to Las Cruces. The rest is restricted. If you wanted to drive from Capitan to Truth or Consequences, you have to go around White Sands Missile Range, and it's 150 miles. If you went "as the crow flies," it's 100 miles.

I have kind of figured out a way to extend an EVs range. Simply pull a small trailer with a generator on it so when the batteries are depleted you could start the gennie and fill the battery. Obviously it would be for emergencies only and the generator would need to be chosen properly so it could handle the current draw. Sounds like a joke, but if need be, the range could be greatly extended. My son drove someone's Tesla across the country and said the trip was basically aiming for the next charging station. Rusty, could the generator in your class C power the charger?

Yes GM is ending the Chevy Bolt but replacing it with an Equinox EV so all is not lost. GM is working on improvements to EV vehicles as well as introducing new models in the near future . Change doesn't come easy but it's coming on fast....leave it to Rusty to find free EV charging.

It was the worst decision ever to get a Chevy bolt. Chevy will stop making them so therefore you’re gonna have massive depreciation on your car in the next 2 to 3 years should’ve stuck with a Tesla. It is not going anywhere and it’s the most innovative brand for EV.
