I must admit that this is, by far, the PRETTIEST downtown I've ever seen anyone build out. I love how you never CRAM everything together by leaving lots of garden space in between those high buildings to let the sun shine through. It just makes everything look SO REAL and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you! I’m having fun with this first city in CS2, learning a lot along the way with regard to how large assets are in this game. Very different from CS1, so that’s creating new challenges and causing me to modify the total city plan quite a bit along the way. By the time I launch my next city, I should have better perspectives on space and hopefully should be able to plan it out even better. Having fun though! Every day I learn a bit more. 🙂 Thanks again!

@@CitySculptor I still wish you'd consider doing some "tutorials" about "how to plan" out a good city, or "how to detail" and landscape properly. Everytime I try these things on my own, mine comes out looking like a HOT MESS. lol

Hey brother! Knocked it out of the park. The connectivity in your city is top notch, but I think there's an opportunity at the new tram stop. You could run a pedestrian suspension bridge over the couplet to connect the train station to the downtown tram station.

I think it might be a great addition to the parking garage to add the Car Wash upgrade since it would provide residents with an additional service in the downtown area aswell as offer a bit of convenience to those using the garage. Also, I'd love to see some more parking for the new commercial development. I believe it would be a good idea to link the alleyway back into the intersection at 9:38 to provide betrer access for any city services to use. I've been loving the series so far, and I'm looking forward to what the city becomes.

Your city is coming along nicely. If I was able to suggest anything I would like to see it would be water, you are missing alot of opportunities where some ponds or man made swimming pools could look nice, possibly even a small lake in a park or around some houses maybe. I just think it would only add to your city :)

really liked the elevated pathways with quay walls to separate buildings. but for the hospital, i think i would place them without quay walls, just rais the ground a couple of meters, then place a regular pathway and lower the ground again, so you get this little dike-like structure/form and then just decorate the slopes with some trees. becasue that way, it lowers the noise pollution coming over from the streets and the sick people can rest easier. trees help with air pollution too, but only in bigger numbers, i think.

One thing that really stands out to me is how cramped some of the intersections are. I know it doesn't have to be super realistic, it is a game after all... Butttt it seems a bit odd to have a major intersection, and then another barely a car's length after it. Saw a lot of this with the big high rise offices.
@CitySculptor
6 ай бұрын
It’s kind of a work-around for what I think is a game limitation. I would love to be able to zone a 12x12 high density office complex that would generate an asset that is a combination of parking, mixed low-mid rise office and commercial, with a 6x6 tower sprouting out of that. That would reduce the need for all of the alleys that I drop in to create tower plazas. You could just zone it on your regular downtown city streets.

Hey, thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have any of the high density office milestone buildings unlocked! Just like all episodes: beautiful. Just one question: why are you not gettih traffic jams due to a lack of parking places?
@CitySculptor
6 ай бұрын
Great question! I won’t pretend to have all the answers on this one, but I think it stems from 2 things: 1.) Before I starting building anything, I made a mass transit plan for the city to make sure I had identified and planned options for the residents to move about the city via rail, bus, and tram. 2.) The city itself has about 70k residents, but they’re spread out a bit, making sure the density doesn’t get too severe. I think these two things are really helping to prevent traffic bottlenecks. Thanks for the great question! 🙂🙏🏼
@mrbranch9511
6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply. My city has a similar size and amount of public transportation. The density is much higher, so that could be it. On the other side, a tower with 270 households results in a similar amount of cars I would say, but when I start comparing I don't see where your cars are going. Furthermore, everyone is running into the same bugs: garbage piling up at farms, not enough processing speed at incineration plant and post sorting facility, dogs everywhere, several signature buildings not working, but I see none of that in your episodes. Of course, they are focused on showing us beautiful creations, but I would love too see an episode focused more on the game playing part. Is your city having the same problems or do you somehow manage to avoid them?
