For larger venues, bathroom attendants who earn a base wage plus tips is the way. Very old fashioned, but works well. For a small library, tokens is a good stop gap measure. Hope it works out.

Who the heck is trying to tip someone in the bathroom? I know I'm not!

Someone's buddy got rich, by being awarded a government contract to install worthless coin machines. If they actually wanted to stop vandalism, they'd put vandals in prison.

I remember a mall where I live used to have coin operated stalls in the bathrooms, back in the 80s. a dime to get in. no one paid as u could scooch under the door. kinda stupid. .

That's fine. In Europe many public bathrooms are not free and you have to pay a dollar or two to get in. Americans take free public bathrooms as granted.

You clearly underestimate my country. Without free restrooms here, there would be a lot more feces and urine in the street. I literally saw a woman pull down her pants and projectile poop onto the sidewalk in broad daylight on a busy street. She aimed and everything lol

They used to charge to get into a stall in bathrooms. But most times the urinals were free. So they had to discontinue that practice because it wasn't equal for men and women. Perhaps we should get rid of urinals and go back to charging for use of the bathroom.

Sounds like someone's brother got rich off the coin machine contract. Coins are literally worthless now. I don't even pick up quarters on the ground. Thanks, Joe Biden! We can stop making coins, because of you!
