Words cannot express how much I love this guy! As a burgeoning writer/actress I really love listening to him. He has an incredible instinct for what will work and what won't in a film and listening to him speak is just so inspirational. I love that quote where he says it's better to put on a movie you know nothing about. I definitely thought Defending Your Life was Academy Award/Oscar worthy, and his voice roles in the Simpsons and as Marlin from Finding Nemo were fantastic! He was genuinely scary and brilliant in Drive. Wonderful wonderful actor/comedian. Genius! :)

His voice is very soothing. Upon finding out that he was the voice of Marlin in one of my favorite childhood movies, Finding Nemo, I was delighted. And to find out it’s his natural speaking voice is awesome. Also, great interviewer.

Albert Brooks is a comedic genius!! I’ve loved him and his work for decades. My favorite is when he read the ingredients of Cool Whip…I still remember it but can’t find it anywhere.

"Lost in America " is one of my favorite comedies . When Brooks was asked what inspired him to write it he said he wanted to make a movie about Easy Rider and how it would really turn out. A. Brooks is the late Super Dave Osborn's brother . RIP , Super Dave . .

The only reason why drive wasn't nominated is because the academy doesn't like when foreign directors show's them how to make movies. Like when Men who hate women came out back in 2009 it was considered the best movie of the year, so the americans quicly had to make there own ripoff called The girl with the dragon tattoo

Reminds me of George Lucas talking about the Hollywood Executives wanting to cut 5 minutes out of American Graffiti. Lucas says he pressed them on why they wanted to do this and they said because they could. And they didn't want to release this great movie because they thought it was a bomb. Wow!

I have to admit that I didn’t come here for this discussion - but MAN (apart from being a great comic and comedic actor) what a deep discussion about writing. IMHO he makes “This is 40”… now I’m going to have to deep dive into his own screenplays.

Moving beyond the level of assumptions involved in a statement that suggests "foreign directors show[sic] them (Americans I assume) how to make movies", The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is hardly a ripoff. If Sony Pictures wanted a ripoff, they wouldn't have hired a genuine American talent like David Fincher, who is notoriously demanding in every aspect of his films, including the budget, and who has also been "accused" of taking "a perfectly good genre movie and turning it into a foreign film."

A terrific performance in Drive. He's a wonderful actor/performer. Wow, thought his first career choice was stand-up comedy. Lost in America and Broadcast News are masterpieces. Reiner, Dreyfuss and others were his school friends.
