Phil Dobrosky experienced progressive pain in his left leg that led him to seek care in the emergency room. He was immediately referred to Dr. Alan Synn, vascular surgeon at the Vascular Institute of the Rockies, for his acute limb ischemia. Phil had a history of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) due to his smoking in conjunction with his high cholesterol and diabetes. As a result, he came close to losing his leg. A year later after his leg was repaired, he began to experience tremendous pain in his right leg. The pain was so severe he could only walk through the use of a walker. Unfortunately, artery blockage in his right leg had continued to progress to the point where it obstructed the prior bypass completely. Dr. Synn performed a new pass and immediately Phil was relieved of his pain. Just six weeks later he was walking and he continues to walk a little more each day thanks to "one of the best doctors he's ever had."
