All there is is the testimony of Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh. There is no other evidence. All the alleged witnesses deny any knowledge of the event. It boils down to an unsupported assertion against a denial of said assertion. There are good reasons for the presumption of innocent until proven guilty. Only Kavanaugh and Blasey Ford know who is truthful, but the presumption of innocence is the default position.

My bad on the mistake, I agree with you that Kavanaugh is not a good fit for such a position as the Supreme Court (his character is just not what I would want from a supreme court judge). Hopefully the FBI properly do their job (although a week is much too short in my opinion) and we can find out more facts about this case.

If Kavanaugh is guilty of any of these accusations of sexual assault, I hope that the senators impeach his position as a U.S. circuit judge and lock him up. Heck even the members of the supreme court can be impeached (legally at least, it has not happened in a serious way yet). I almost wish Kavanaugh was appointed to the supreme court before these accusations came out so (if he was found guilty) that we could see a great precedent of a SCOTUS impeachment happen.

Where on earth did you end up with that fact? The reason Mitchell asked about that night was because the July 1st entry showed evidence (through example) of Kavanaugh drinking on a weekday and going over to a friend's house. Although that might give an example of Kavanaugh's lifestyle in his youth, there is no other link that can be made from that calendar entry alone. The individuals in that entry would have to be questioned, the location of the social gathering would have to be found out, and only then could anyone assume it as evidence of that being the date of the incident.

@marysparks2975

Jamie Malokas......Ford is NOT the first, or the last, woman (or man) to distinctly remember certain details of an event that happened years or decades ago...while being completely hazy about other details...like exact place and time. I am not going to go into great detail here, but back when I was fifteen (now sixty-three) I ran away from home. I was way more naive than I believed I was (at the time), but wanted desperately to be gone from my horribly dysfunctional mother and home life. What I ran into was a weekend from hell...one night of which was spent in a disgusting, dirty, abandoned, mouse-infested house in a small town several miles from where I lived......on the lap of a large and disgusting black man whose disgusting fondling of me stopped ONLY when he realized I was fifteen...was NOT actually friends of the two who brought me there....could be troublesome to explain....and mostly through some intervention of a guardian angel (or something equally amazing!) that saved me from a horror I have only been able to imagine for ALL THESE YEARS since! Had I been raped and otherwise used or abused by the four or five men who passed in and out of that house that night....I wonder if I would have survived at all. AND this story is something I've NEVER revealed to a family member (other than my daughter) or even any close friends.....partly out of wanting to believe it never happened...partly to deny I was that naive and stupid...partly out of embarrassment and knowing that most people would have thought little of it because I wasn't actually raped....and even if I had been, I must have invited it, somehow, just by choosing to run away and go off with relative strangers. I mean, what was I thinking? So, before you pass such judgment, Jamie Malokas, know that there are a lot of "incidences" that women (and some men, believe it or not) have been "taught" to be embarrassed about, or to believe they somehow brought on, themselves......and are therefore, unwilling to even admit it happened, let alone complain about it or consider bringing charges against the perpetrator(s).

I’m a strong believer in innocent until proven guilty. Any accusations that are not corroborated should be considered reckless. This woman comes out when the steaks are high, without any corroboration, and we let it ruin a mans life? Even a 10% chance of innocence is too high to risk. Victims of false accusations are as real as victims of rape (although most accusations are true), there is still a terrifiyingly high number of false accusations (both intentional and unintentional).
@Miopop58

Of course he is innocent until proven otherwise and this is only accusations. He is not on trial, and that's why if he is so sure about his position should demand for another FBI investigation and polygraph test despite it's unreliability, but he refused to do so and consequently put himself in weaker position to be believed to.
@bassmasta123454

alijawad87able agreed. But as you said, the stakes are way too high. The sexual assault allegations are one thing, and a very important aspect of this case, yet it’s the rest of his voting record that terrifies me. Throughout his career he’s made it abundantly clear that his jurisprudence supports that of sweeping mass surveillance which clearly violates the 4th amendment (Klayman vs. Obama), that he sides with big business over working people (Sea World vs. Perez), that he believes that the US can supersede international law and argued that military contractors should be granted international immunity (Saleh vs. Titan), etc. It’s disturbing to see a judge who’s record is so consistent with violating existing law. They interpret the law through the scope of the oligarchs that directly benefit from their policy. There are a lot of more serious concerns surrounding Kavanaugh then the accusations of sexual harassment. It’s safe to say that we don’t have enough evidence to completely discard his nomination, but why in the fuck isn’t a simple background check being considered? Why are the republicans so eager to divert the conversation whenever FBI investigation is brought up? And why is he so damn suspicious when he answers? I don’t think it should be so easy for this guy. Appreciate your comment. Cheers

Miodrag Popovic letting FBI investigate would be foolish. For one, it changes the narrative, "FBI is investigating sexual assault allegations," that sounds much more damning. And insisting he lets the FBI investigate if he's innocent is equivalent to a law enforcement telling a suspect "if you lawyer up it will make you look guilty." Only a fool falls for this. And polygraph tests are fictional science. It's the equivalent of saying, "let me feel your heart, if it pumps hard, it means you're lying.". I don't think you realize how unscientific and unreliable they are.

Lindsay Graham is acting the same as the family court judge, Bradford Bury, who did everything he could to bash me, the rape victim, and pretend that my brother, the rapist, was a victim. He gave my rapist a restraining order against me and was talking about trying to charge me with extortion but they had no evidence of it so did not try to charge me. Also no evidence of any violence of any kind by me, only the fact that I am seriously injured.
