McGinley the actor who plays Dr Cox in scrubs lent his voice to a video game, titled Dead Head Fred on psp, in which he plays a private detective, Fred Neuman ,who has the ability to switch heads!! The game won an award for video game writing. Terrific work by Dr Cox for giving us another awesome character.

@@gazc298 I don't think so, the reason he hates him is because Hugh Jackman is perfect. He is a genuinely nice guy, who sings, dances and acts. The actor explained it and I think it was the creator of the show who mockingly hates Hugh Jackman, they just used Dr. Cox as his voice.

When you watch this show again, you should try to keep track of how often Dr Cox touches his nose. He does it pretty often. I think it's something the actor uses to help his performance or maybe some sort of nervous twitch they thought would really go well with the character. Either way, it works.

No, but I can... Dr. Cox's trademark nose rub before crossing his arms is a reference to Robert Redford in The Sting (1973). Redford used it as a sign for "It's O.K.", or "Go Ahead". John C. McGinley added it himself as a tribute to the film. (imdb.com)

Zero Ninety His character is great and all but that last quote "to be a man is to be an island" is a sure fire way to depression and failure. You can never achieve success or even really enjoy it alone. As reflected with dr cox's lifestyle in the later part. The sad 40 year old bachelor. It changes and evolves, but so does his sayings.
