Salaam brother, he was so humble and polite - I don't think you should keep this as your title, I don't think you should repeat something he said that wasn't good, you're not at war with him, he's not against you or us. One video on the whole discussion is more than necessary I feel, if you break and dissect it into little chunks it's not fair and it brings a whole new audience to the flood gates. Just my opinion.

My best friend was an atheist whom I used to talk to about concerning religion. I was Muslim and was never good at explaining the reasoning behind Islam, it was something I grew up on. One of his role models was Jordan Peterson and so he watched his videos and came to the conclusion that the Prophet Muhammad SAW was a warlord. He passed away this year believing that. This is the result of misinformation being spread and I wish that he would be alive to have seen this remarkable discussion. I hope you see this Mohammed because I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the effort to build bridges so that situations like that of my friend happen less. One thing that needs to be mentioned: Islam expanded politically and territorially very quickly, but it took hundreds of years for those places to become majority Muslim through organic growth and conversion. Places like Egypt took about 400 years according to credible historians. One hidden unspoken assumption is, since it expanded militarily so quickly, then people were also quickly forcibly converted, which is untrue. Also, populations in places like Syria and Egypt were completely fed up with Byzantine Christian oppression and as such were highly assistive and supportive of the Muslim expansion, meaning their job was made much easier and bloodshed was greatly reduced. Such details need to be made clear.

you are nothing but MUSHRICKS QURAN is a clear book.. 12-1 and 15-1 QURAN is a fully detailed book 12-111 QURAN is the best HADITH 39-23 QURAN has the best explanation TAFSEER 25-33 QURAN only SUNNAT of ALLAH 48-23 QURAN ALLAH the only teacher 55-2. ALL these proofs the attributions of QURAN but you MUSHRICKS will still say QURAN is not detailed enough. QURAN is not clear enough QURAN does not have the TAFSEER explanation QURAN is not the best HADITH BUKARI is QURAN says to follow the SUNNAT of MUHAMAD when there is no!!! such thing has SUNNAT of MUHAMAD in QURAN. QURAN says MUHAMAD is the teacher of QURAN. All your pathetic claims have been refuted by the QURAN . But still you will not believe in this book this is why ALLAH calls you people DUMB , DEAF . and BLIND all proofs are there in the clear verses . You people believe prophet could not read and write i will give you proofs ALLAH verses that he did read and write . 29-48, 96-1 96-3 96-4 and 25-4 to 25-6 were people at the time of prophet accused him of writing and accused him of helpers that helped him just like you people accuse him of helpers who wrote the QURAN. Now i will give you proof from your own HADITH where prophet asked for writing paper to write!! down information and UMAR BIN KITAB saying QURAN is sufficient for us. When the time of the death of the Prophet (ﷺ) approached while there were some men in the house, and among them was `Umar bin Al-Khatttab, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Come near let me write for you a writing after which you will never go astray." `Umar said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) is seriously ill, and you have the Qur'an, so Allah's Book is sufficient for us." The people in the house differed and disputed. Some of them said, "Come near so that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) may write for you a writing after which you will not go astray," while some of them said what `Umar said. When they made much noise and differed greatly before the Prophet, he said to them, "Go away and leave me." Ibn `Abbas used to say, "It was a great disaster that their difference and noise prevented Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) from writing that writing for them. YOU PEOPLE ARE DIRTY MUSHRICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jordan is confused how a religious leader, a term associated with peace, can be involved in any activity including violence as violence contradicts peace. But I think he is missing a whole element. What type of person would lead an army in the front line? Would you not aspire to have such courage? In the 12 rules book, he advices to clean your room. Why? Because it instills responsibility. Why is this significant? Because I believe there is a spiritual side to religion and a practical one. We were placed here from heaven, a place where only peace exists, to a physical world where good and evil exists. We have a purpose on this planet and we cannot neglect either this world or that world. It would be ideal to be able to just live in serene religious peace and it is possible, monks and some sufis live purely spiritual lives, but by being so spiritual, they lack the responsibility by losing sight of the task on hand. Yes we should always be conscious of the next life, but we should also interact with the realities of being a human on Earth. Think about the lessons learnt by being a good father or good mother, to be a responsible and confident husband or a loving and caring wife. If we were to meditate in the mountains our whole lives, we would miss out on the opportunity to become these people. A leader will always face conflict. To be a leader who faces conflict in the most honourable manor is a person with qualities we should aspire to have. This is one quality of the Prophet Mohammad pbuh, a human that is the symbol of what it is to be the best person and what we should all aspire to be. Being involved in violence does not contradict his peaceful nature and ideals. Therefore, being involved in defensive wars has no basis to reject you from being a religious leader.

Much respect to Mr Peterson, he did apologise and I get the impression he has read things on Islam but is still learning. He questions with such respect and is right to do so. May Allah guide him as he is searching for the truth. Ameen. Well done to Mr Hijab! You kept you cool and explained things thoroughly without letting emotions get in the way. What an amazing debate to behold.

The problem between Muslims, specifically the Shia Sunni conflict has not been the “bloody conflict” that Peterson seems to think or imply. It’s been used by the enemies of Islam to pit the two groups against each other. The enemies use this conflict today to create this conflict in the context of their own wars to weaken the Muslims.

The death of the prophets grandsons shouldn’t be taken lightly. Theres an over exaggeration from the Shia end to some degree no doubt. And Yes, I agree the enemies of Islam always try to take advantage of the issue and attempt to divide us. However, the imams mentioned in the shia faith are very important to the muslim world. There names are even engraved in prophets mosque in Medina. That’s how important they were. These imams were almost always targeted. And we’re left silenced to not ever talk about certain things. Read your history and try to understand it

Always been open minded in regard to Islam. I know the terror attacks in 2001 were not masterminded by a dude in a cave. Had many physical altercations with my own kind arguing about the justifications for war, drone attacks and anti terror legislation. The big issue now is forced medical procedures I believe. If you defend my right to make my own decision I stand with you. I don't care what religion you are part of. Seen good documentary 15 years ago called the arrivals check it out.

Jordan is smart, if he agrees and nods along with the narrative he’ll have more book sales and popularity through the massive Muslim population. A wise business decision but there is no way he has suddenly gained an appreciation for anything hijab is presenting.
@emmanuel8310

Hmmm. That's an interesting thought. Actually, I think he's really smart. Look at question he asked Him towards the end of the the actual video. I think he noticed that all Hijab was there was to "correct" him not to actually listen to his own view or to see that maybe he's wrong. He came with the mind that he is right. And it's really interesting he asked that question. But, again, I don't think Hijab realised that was what he was doing, because he obviously flopped in the question.

at 12:43, Jordan asked a really good question, I think the answer should be that after some time Muslims started having conflicts between them, and somehow that made them weak. or took their focus to somewhere else. (I am talking about the time after Hazrat Umar) ... Then After some decades, Muslim Ruled Spain, Portugal etc. so it really did not end on European borders, even till world war 1 Muslims were in pretty big power. This is now when we are weak as again we have conflicts with each other.

I loved this and am thankful to both Jordan and Brother Hijab for this. I feel Brother Hijab answered most intellectual questions effectively but when it came to spiritual qs I feel Brother Hijab seemed nervous for the first time when qs abt how Islam helps him deal with his wife etc… I felt the answer was simple… it’s salat… our salat helps us deal with life/ God everything…. Please this is not a criticism in any shape or form…. I know very little compared to most Muslims so I will not even dare to compare with a powerhouse like Bro Hijab…. I just felt Peterson wasn’t debating but bro hijab has this debate mode on always… doesn’t seem calm… I feel he wud be so much more interesting…but never the less it was amazing. I've got news for you all: non Muslims are not interested in what you say. We are never going to confirm to your ways,women should be treated with respect, Muslim men shouldn't have lots of wife's and cheat,and criticize women for wearing what they want.
