Try this. Ask your doctor to explain any of the LDL or statin issues raised by Dr. Kendrick. First watch him/her squirm. Second watch the shift in the eyes. Third note the lack of any response. Dr. Kendrick is a rare physician. Wish I could find one like him, but this is a rare breed today. One who questions and thinks. We are all doomed, I fear.

Many years ago I was discussing with a cardiologist about Statins. He said: "If you look at the graph you will see that the curves looks like this" and used both his arms to simulate those curves. He couldn't even put it into words and explain the freaking graph. I said "Gotta take a leak" and ran. Detail: he is considered the best in here. I just have had a stent laced on my (NAME IT HERE, if you dare) back then. No Statins, no Aspirin, no Clopidogrel, and no dietary changes. And there it goes 21 years. Not a single follow-up exam and I am still here. I question if I ever had had that stent... BTW: I am a Physician and English is not my primary language...

15:50 This does happen. And it is why Richard Dawkins keeps telling the story of the old professor who did exactly that. This distinguishes a scientist from a pseudoscientist. If you only meet people who cannot change their mind in the face of evidence, then you have simply never met a scientist.

Oh it is possible to believe anything if the incentive to do so is strong enough. But it may be most unwise and self-defating to choose to give power of acceptance and currency to any belief that locks the believer into an entirely external framework to which the subject is thereby compelled or 'incentivised' to comply with. Having said that research clearly framed and diligently undertaken can uncover more of the patterns of nature that characterise reality - physical, biological and psychic-emotional - which are all in my view expressions of one spirit of underlying energetic exchange of informational communication. The quandary of science is in denying its antecedence in narrative and mythic cultural frameworks of meaning, it throws out the baby with the bathwater, for the same archetypes operate scientific endeavour - not least in the notion of replacing the 'old god or gods' with the one true objective reality - even if technically this is supposed to be the ideal with which the model should not be equated or confused with. The fact is that investments of corporate, government, funded and publicly established regulations and markets - and not least - institutional reputations - all naturally conspire to generate a cultural counterfeit and block to the true scientific - or spiritual - endeavour. The masking of a manipulative agenda behind the white coats (or robes) of any kind of priesthood or symbol of authority is the perversion of the endeavour or true cultural impulse. The difference between an illusion and a counterfeit is one of conscious purpose and concealed deceit. Science of itself is not self-correcting - because it can always make new realms of problem by which to divert attention from faulty foundations - and the liability of science as an edifice or structure of knowledge is that uncorrected or uncorrected corruptions, errors and omissions not only run in place of a whole or truer account (which includes honesty to not knowing nor pretending to know) they are used as the basis for hugely funded corporate and social programs that sacrifice wealth, health and happiness to false trails or for some, gravy trains.

You have taught us well to appreciate the difference between absolute and relative risk and how this can distort the impression of benefit from statins, but at 49min you state that statins increase the risk of diabetes by 60%, ALS by 15 fold and Parkinsons disease by 300% . So you are using relative risk figures (followed by an enigmatic pause for effect) to scare doctors off prescribing statins. Can we have the absolute risk figures for these side effects please

Any ressemblance to a recent “health crisis” in 5 letters and 2 numbers would be entirely fortuitous… The apogee of the mode of production Capitalism in its purest. The capital has devoured every aspects of life. Everything is merchandised and marketed including our health and well-being. But like humans can only ask questions they can answer, this video is evidence that when a mode of production has consumed all the resources he could contained, the system flips and folds by himself. We, the 99.9% just need to wake up slowly, leave the cave, and make sure that in the next world the 0.1% are not on top of pyramid. As there is no pyramid at all.

So many fat nutritionists telling me how to be more metabolically healthy. I remember being told 40 years ago that there were more drug addicts in the medical profession than in any other. I was so shocked that people who have devoted their lives to health would then deliberately harm themselves like this. Why is this guy obese when he knows the dangers of obesity to one's health, namely to one's cardiovascular health? Well, because he's an expert on the subject of course. If only he hadn't devoted his life to health maybe he would've stood a chance of being less fat and sanctimonious.

Came here straight from a Paul Saladino & Ali Nadir podcast to listen more about Malcom. I am astounded by what I just heard Malcom say about the Wikipedia thing. Further more I use that baseball example all the time almost weekly and have just watched this episode 1min 7 seconds. I guess he is about to ask how much does the ball cost!!! It is from Kahnemans book and I heard that MIT freshmen got it wrong 50%. I have not met a person in flesh who has given the correct answer just like that. I am biased since I read it printed and understood the mentalist side of the question. More, I was aware of the context of the question and thought slow for once. Do not think fast and Read Peter C. Gøtzsches book. Now back to the program...

I find the false circles which are created the most disturbing; if you think this then automatically this follows and will result in x negative and unwanted viewpoint. How about no. The false created narratives are binding to some, for some of the time maybe, but then over the life course the person may realise a stream of false sequences and not arrive at any of the negatives the parental guardians presupposed.
