Wanda was teased as a Nexus Being in WandaVision Ep 7. In every universe, there's only one Nexus Being. Nexus Beings are the anchors of all power in their reality. It's the reason why Wanda was able to manipulate the power of Captain Marvel.

The reason captain marvel died so easily was as we see in the first part her mask and a bit of her suit was made out of energy and you can see that energy fading away near the end of the fight she absorbed all her energy which made her very vulnerable

Ya know, every reaction I've seen to this film has people saying "run, run to the book, RUN" at America in the opening sequence but HOW?!? There's like a 50 foot gap and the giant spaghetti demon is in the path. The only reason she even attempts after is because the debris Strange had used to contain it had fallen off. I just don't know what people are looking at in that scene, there was no where for her to go but the endless void lol

So, this was actually originally intended to be released before no way home, and America would have been the one to bring the other Peters in, but, covid, and other factors caused a shuffle, and the movie was partly rewritten. @@cdnxman1326 I like to think that too, I kinda hoped Spiderman would have appeared to save Kingpin and as a result connect him with Spiderman a bit but I understand they would have had to deal with Sony for a single after credit shot. This is my fave MCU film since it checks the boxes of all my fave aspects: - father-daughter dynamic - quick, witty humor and snarkiness - amazing fight scenes - good acting and emotion - awesome new character and concept introductions - cameos and easter eggs - horror elements, suspense and jumpscares etc. - brutal slaughtering of heroes - manages to reach out and explore new concepts in the mcu without really tying much into the main cinematic world that's already been established - it feels like it came straight from a comic book, as if I was reading a volume of Doctor Strange from the comics

Great reaction but you are one of many people that didnt pay attention to the movie, talking about how it was solved in westview and stuff, it was mentioned many times what the darkhold does to anyone that uses it, Wanda did get over her kids and vision, what she was doing was just studies on herself, she got the Darkhold from Agatha who also was corrupted, when she left the city she was trying to learn about her powers and herself, yet the darkhold found a way to affect her and corrupted her mind, in the last scene of ep 9 in wandavision you can see she was studying the book then her kids suddenly screams for help and call her, it was darkhold. Same for the other strange who got corrupted by darkhold that used christine to get into his mind and look what he did, killed other universes out of madness, Wanda only broke free from it as she saw the fear of her kids.

I've loved all the marvel movies that they have released since endgame (a fairly unpopular opinion), but i go into them remembering that all of these are essentially phase 1 set up again. We concluded the last epic, and this phase is laying the ground work for the next 10 years of movies. New higher concepts (cosmic beings a la Eternals, Thor Love and Thunder), more of the mystic side of things (Shang Chi and Werewolf by night), and the Multiverse itself (Spiderman no way home, Doctor strange). Big concepts introduced in a grand way, but are really just the foundation for the next several years of story. Just my opinion though. :)

I have a greater appreciation for Dr Strange after this, he wasn't my favorite MCU character and now he's up there after this. I think the description you gave was accurate, this was way more "comic bookey", I have read stories like this in comics in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's, felt very nostalgic to me.

She didnt had the plot armor she is just that strong the one who has plot armor is strange wong and america bcs they shouldve been dead at the beginning of the movie. 838 CM is not weak our CM and theirs have the same power they got their powers from infinity stone the reason why she died bcs of that statue was bcs wanda actually absorbed her photon energy as we can see she is cappable of energy mnaipulation so she did it.

Mutants are hated over superheroes because humans tend to fear/hate something they don't understand. In this case, how a person could randomly develop powers (mostly in very young years) because a specific gene they happen to have that others don't (while most superheroes tend to end up being physically, technologically, magically, chemically or cosmically man made.... unless you re a alien) Also one of the biggest fears and reasons for hate is the possibility that as time goes on mutant population could possibly increase and outnumber human numbers and eventually overwrite and replace them eventually. (genetic survival of the fittest I guess) Like how old era racists thought black numbers in America would overgrow and replace the whites.

Yeah, this was oddly disappointing, but you must admire the effort. The "spiritual journey" of the hero fell flat for me. It's amazing what they can do in movies these days, but basic good storytelling is still king.

The tonal whiplash in this movie was too much for me. They shouldn’t have kept switching Wanda from a monster to a sympathetic character between scenes, especially when her kids aren’t real (and so poorly written) which means she doesn’t even come across as sympathetic (just crazy.) It might be because I never liked Wanda as a character but I came to watch Dr. Strange, not Wanda, and I feel like I wasted my time after I left the theatre.

@Christ Allan i didn’t understand half of what you said but ok. even if that’s true it doesn’t fix the glaring issues with writing and tone. Holy shit the writing for her kids is so bad, it’s like they were written by some 80 year old disney exec who has no idea how kids act or something. It’s so painfully stupid to watch. This is just like Thanos all over again, where for whatever reason the writers have to make their villains sympathetic in ways that contradict the rest of their messaging, which is then worsened by holes in their writing. This film constantly shoves its message of ‘feel bad for Wanda’ down the watchers’ throat. Before I first watched it I had no opinion on Wanda and it was still annoying because it made no sense. They clearly want her to be sympathetic but if that’s true why do they treat her like magic Jason Vorhees? Like I said I didn’t really have an opinion on Wanda, and I didn’t watch her series or anything either, but this movie just makes her so insanely un-fun to watch. I had low expectations for this one and it didn’t even clear that.
