The fact that this show was once so popular that they needed to simulcast the 50th anniversary special across the world at the same time in order to avoid any spoilers getting to fans in different time zones, and now most people don’t even know that there was a female Doctor, should absolutely have gotten a dozen higher-ups fired, yet they haven’t even punished the show runners who lead the shows during this unprecedented free fall of popularity.

As an AMERICAN Doctor Who Fan for 40 years, until now. It actually really pains me that I know this. Matt Smith, David Tennant, and John Hurt changed History by some kind of All The Doctors doing Math for ever. Since THE FIRST DOCTOR William Hartnell. They killed the Daleks (But, of fourse, they didnt) and saved Galifrey. And it was like that since the 50th Anniversary. Then Chibnall just had the Master go there, Off Caera, and just kill every body Anyway. So, Galifrey was no longer destroued by the Time War. It was, in fact, destroyed by REALLY, SHITTY, WRITING. Thank You For Your Time.

I was happy to see Gallifrey back. Unfortunately, it looks like after doing not all that much with Gallifrey or the Timelords, they've weirdly gone back to the last of the timelords thing again? I haven't watched the Jodie Whittaker episodes, so I'm assuming it has something to do with Chibnall.

One thing that bothers me is where the hell are the Reapers in response to this time paradox? Father's Day demonstrates why you should never mess with fixed points in time because doing so summons Reapers who start devouring everyone in an attempt to destroy what's causing the time disruption. If stepping on a butterfly is enough to cause humanity to change, then the series should've ended with The Doctor and his companion getting eaten by Reapers because even the Doctor was killed by one in Father's Day and was brought back when Rose Tyler's father sacrificed himself to fix the time disruption.

To fully nitpick the scene about the butterflies ahem. It makes no sense that killing the butterflies would make humans lizard people because mammals are already modified lizards with a few traded features and back then they mostly scavenged on insects, eggs, and other smaller food items. Consider also that it is a monarch butterfly which on top of existing way later, also tastes extremely bad and is toxic to eat. So the butterfly’s existence would literally make little to no difference in any direct manner since even if it was eaten by proto mammals it would be spat out immediately. This has been overthinking by a lad who has spent too much on a bio degree he doesn’t get enough use out of.

To over think your overthink, and admittedly doing no research whatsoever, there could be a sliver of logic to their insanity. Most mammalian species that took over and were successful rely on the pollenisation of plants. Ther herbivores and omnivores directly, and the predators rely on those two subsets to be able to succeed so they can then predate on them. Now its utterly ridiculous how its portrayed there, as this theory only works under the assumption that that singular butterfly was the genus for a whole species and killing it prevented that entire species from coming into be. But our agriculture is under threat due to the decline in bee populations for that very reason, so i can see where some blue haired fruitcake saw the bee thing and thought combining that with the whole 'butterfly effect' thing was utter genius. Of course they would they have the IQ of a lemon drizzle cake. So i can see where they got the idea, they just executed it like they were executing a POW. Rather than a good story.

If you're gay but not into this evil sh*t, then there is still hope for you. Pride was the first and most important sin, because it turns you away from God and into your own understanding, that's why it's so important to the enemy, turn away from it, you're a lot more than just your sexuality. Turn to Jesus because he loves us more than any human being can. This world is temporary, the next one is not. God Bless.

@@friendlyotaku9525 The bigotry is the film and TV industry deciding all at once in 2016-17 to prioritize hiring people based on their race, gender, and sexuality over things that actually matter to their doing their jobs well. The problem isn't the millions of fans who noticed the huge drop in quality after talent, experience, and creativity were no longer top priorities. It's just the same as if they took a football team and said we are going to fire a lot of the best players and replace them with people hired specifically to represent all aspects of society. Not many people would want to watch after the big inevitable quality drop, and that's simply normal. The word 'trans' itself means by definition to 'go from one thing to another' ie Transport, Transfer, Transition, Translate, etc and so on its a middle ground not an end point. This is why i dont play the pro noun game, language MATTERS! If i point at a dude with a beard in a dress im going to go 'him' if im pointing them out to someone, why? because who ever i am pointing it out to is likely to think i assume one of the actual women if i said 'her' and it confuses the matter and makes the act of getting your point across so much more difficult. Language exists to communicate our thoughts effectively and efficiently from our brains into someone elses via our mouths, ears and the medium of the language itself. Its like Driving from work to home, and declaring yourself to be the road in between, rather than being at home or at work, and they wonder why they struggle with identity, they dont understand what identity is to begin with it would seem.

The 'slangy' language started back before the JW version of the person playing the Doctor. Remember 'Ma Fam'? I remember when the Doctor belied his 'man out of time' aspect by using a broad range of vocabulary that didn't include 2020s colloquialisms. RTD is, was and will always be an over-hyped hack who's been riding the wave of his own self importance. I doubt that, had the BBC not had a thing for hiring 'regional talent' (notice how the RTD era was produced by BBC Wales, and Moffat shows were by BBC Scotland?) to show that they weren't just London-centric lefty 'dahlings', that he would've got the job in the first place. His gay agenda has been injected into the stories from the first season, albeit subtly at first, as was his 'Welshness agenda'.

At the very least, Steven Moffat showed that he can still write excellent stories. I genuinely came out of watching "Boom" feeling excited and giddy, and I haven't felt that in _years._ There was no agenda, no forced messages, and the only issues that _could_ be levied against it, that _one_ off-handed comment about some lesbians and a single song, are only because of the _other_ episodes. If the other episodes didn't feature copious amounts of queer mentions and music, then the two instances in "Boom" would've gone completely unnoticed. The song in the episode is a prime example of this; in "Boom", the song is a simple lullaby used to calm someone down in a life-or-death situation, and is later used to perfectly time the passing of an object to disarm a trap Indiana Jones-style. As for that single gay comment, it wouldn't have been out of place in Moffat's run as showrunner, being a quick line about a Noodle Incident the Doctor once had. The fact that "Boom" was produced under Disney's supervision means that the main issues aren't coming from _them,_ but someone else instead.

Why would a character be speaking so happily about their past trauma? Why would they focus on such superficial benefits from an entire civilization being wiped out? And why is this front loaded in the first 5 minutes of meeting a new person? No one tells this much about themselves to a person they just met. And its painfully obvious they are doing this because they feel like they can't hold the audience's attention for the next five minutes. If the audience didn't want to watch they wouldn't watch it. That is why King Arthur/Merlin, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes and James Bond last for so long, keep the same formula which works. New Doctor Who is not imaginative writing, it is just silliness. Anyone can re-write classics like making King Arthur a Chinese pansexual , Camelot built in Tahlinquh Oklahoma, lives with his ballerina Knights of the enneagram table. Make Sherlock Holmes a human lizard addicted to musicals solving crimes in London Kiribati. Or Robin Hood an Irishman of the 1845 wearing a red riding hood stealing from the poor and giving his loot to John Jacob Astor. This is what New Doctor Who is like to long time Whovians.

(In the episode angels in Manhattan in season 7 the doctor heals Rivers wrist/ in season 9 EP 1/2 the doctor “heals” Davros with regeneration energy) however he doesn’t just do it whenever he feels like it, when he heals river she says “that was a stupid waste of regeneration energy” and in the other episode the doctor tells davros “it’ll probably cost me and an arm or a leg down the line” which means the doctor doesn’t just randomly give regeneration energy to anyone he’s quite careful with what he does with (and ps he doesn’t just blow on the part he want to heal he sort of summons the energy in his hands but hey, now they don’t give a shit about continuity so whatever)
