Congratulations on the War SDR!! If still available in a few days, I intend on grabbing one. I saw your channel referenced on David Bombals channel when he and had the guy “Occupy the Web” and they were discussing what a great os Dragon OS is. I put Dragon OS on a portable Windows SBC with a 5” touch screen which has been awesome. The fact you’ve made a desktop version is awesome because that was my next project. So, I will definitely get one at some point. I just tried SDRconnect hoping that it would support hardware other the SDRPlays stuff and no luck. If there’s a way to use other SDR hardware with it like Hackrf, Lime, RTL please, let me know. As I continue to lean all this, I’ve come to not be a fan of the SDRPlay line. I was trying to give it another try but for not. Thanks again for all your help a while back. It really got me going with Linux and SDR gear. So much to the point that I’m trying like hell to produce my own SDR transceiver, based on ADIs ADRV9002 transceiver and the PlutoSDR. The name is a nod to the PlutoSDR though some may say I’m just biting off the Pluto name. I’m going with HadesSDR for now. We’ll see if I can get it done. Anyway, congratulations on your success and look forward to your next video

I got myself a hackRF at DefCon this year to start learning RF things, but I haven't even plugged it in yet. Still doing random ctf puzzles, procrastinating.

I installed via your git and SDRConnect works great, but GQRX, Cubic and some more won't start. Nothing happens when I try to start them. Same after variants of reinstall, uninstall, fresh install etc. This happens on both my pc's different brands and setup. What am I missing/doing wrong?

Sdrconnect is already installed. But it shouldn’t be an issue to reinstall it. I’d probably need more info.

That’s hard to say with it being a Vm. Like resources allocated to it, virtual box or VMware?

@@WhynotTIY I would make sure you have installed guest tools on your windows host and within the Vm itself. That will improve performance. Also look at how many cores you have dedicated to the VM as well as memory.

@@cemaxecuter7783 Yes. Installation is just that way and 3 cores + 4096 memory.

Just installed SDRConnect on my ASUS Chromebook (in the Linux environment). Had to update to Bookworm from Bullseye. SDRConnect detected the RSPdx after a usb unplug and restart. Attempting to hit play crashed the program. Subsequent attempts to run would not detect the RSPdx. Unplug/replug no luck. Lsusb does not detect either. I've had nothing but bad luck on desktops and now this chromebook with the RSPdx. It works so well in the Windows SDRUno program. Such a shame I can't make this work. Maybe I need your setup...

Just flash DragonOS FocalX on a usb and see if your Chromebook will boot and run it live, you could then install SdrConnect within it and give it a quick test compared to Bullseye. Be curious to hear the results.

This chromebook would have to be physically altered to boot from USB. I've done it years ago but don't really want to "break" this one. I did flash DragonOS on an old windows laptop, but the hardware is so old and the battery won't stay charged that even if it worked on it I wouldn't achieve my goals of a portable SDR (but I may try it just to see). In theory it should work in the Linux environment on the Chromebook. I may keep trying but after a couple years of no luck on Linux I probably won't put much effort into it. Even on a desktop for what I do (amateur radio) RSPdx and Linux just suck. Sadly windows works great.

I hate that after buying it, I went back to see if I should buy an antenna and they said that the antennas would only extend range. From reading online comments people say that having a great antenna and a shield really makes a difference when you're trying to have clean signals. :/ Meh...
