Do you ever use a 4-inch sanitary tee (aka sweep tee)? They have a 90* sweep and take up less space than a traditional wye. Also less fittings. I had to use one on a tight downspout lateral and also use them as directional clean outs. They seem to work well. I'm sure they are not as efficient as a wye, but definitely better than a regular tee.

Nothing wrong with using a sanitary tee if the space is too tight for a combo wye. You sacrifice a little efficiency but that’s not a big deal when it comes to yard drainage 💪

I just realized the company I hired used a T verse a Y, the water has been draining .in the work was done a year and a half ago, but I almost want to call them back and tell them to fix it so the water flows better - but I know that’s not going to happen. Thanks for the video- it was because I was running a sewer snake that I realized they used a T

Is the 4” PVC Sewer and Drain pipe suppose to fit tightly in the NDS 6” round Speed Catch Basin? I am trying to install this basin and the pipe is fitting loosely and I know it’s going to leak.

Good question, and from my experience yes the 6” Sdr35 pvc pipe fits very snug inside those catch basins. I can recommend this solution instead if you are using Sdr35 pipe: Use a Sdr 6” tee fitting that has one hub that is 4” and glue a 6” cab onto one of the 6” sides. Now you have a solid 6” pvc basin with a 4” hub to solvent weld your 4” pipe to and a 6” drain grate will fit onto this tee. There will be zero leaks from this basin.

Thanks for your response. I am not using the SDR 35 I’m using the S&D (sewer and drain) PVC 4”. I wish I could leave a pic on this platform but it doesn’t fit snuggly. I squeezed some Lexel in the gap of the basin that accepts the pipe and screwed a 1/4” self tapping screw into the pipe and then into the basin. I’m going to send some water through it and see what happens. My other option would be put a short run of ABS corrugated solid pipe into the basin and then am adapter to the PVC pipe at every connection.

@@chefjones11 Oh ok that’s why. Those basins are made to fit SDR. Hope we were of some help! ✌️
