sadly we have the same problem here blocked drains due to neglect it makes me angry becuz they blame the flooding on too much rain when upon closer insapection you can see the drains are either blocked just on top or in need of unblocking/repair

I am from another country (Argentina), but I dare to say your fellow citizens should be really thankful for what you do. You are making a much much better job than public officials (the ones in charge of roads and drainage) without asking for anything in return. It would be wonderful if only 1% of the world could be like you (in many other areas). Congratulations!!

I took your lead recently and unblocked a few local drains in my neighbourhood in Australia. I came a cropper in an open drain one day (I impromptu pulled over and jumped out the car to do it). I was cleaning out with my hands - in my regular office working wear - slipped and got mud everywhere. It was so fun. When I got home, the wife looked at me when I walked in and the look on her face said it all.

Hey I don't even know your name but I know what's in your soul...!! This is soooo satisfying, I've been watching these flood draining videos for hours now!!! I live in Detroit Michigan and I have a huge maple tree and two drains in my front yard.. every fall when it rains real hard I go stand in the pouring rain and clear the drains this last fall I loaded for wheelbarrows of leaves in 3 hours, it is so weirdly satisfying!!!!I've also help take down some pretty massive beaver dams when I lived up North .. that's a huge issue up there flooding crop fields, Rds, homes, basements..... It is a lot of work but very fun to use a big chainsaw and some Dynamite!! I'm so glad I stumbled onto your videos!! By the way here in Michigan.. alot of what you do is illegal unless you have a permit approved by the DNR..🤔🤔😟..

Dude........Studs are only good for hard compacted snow that has turned into ice, you are putting yourself in danger running studs on tarmac, slush & even fresh snow. Winter tires are good for temperatures below 40° & they work better than summer tyres in low temperatures & cold rain. If you were driving up north,in say northern Minnesota or North Dakota then your studs would be perfect.

It’s possible you’ve addressed this before (but I’m pretty new here). You talk about how air getting in accelerates the drainage. If you took a big PVC pipe or something similar to poke through and allow air out of the grate, would that help the drainage on your bigger floods?

Hey Post it's really good to see your commitment to improving your local drainage infrastructure. But im really concerned that you don't use gloves or waders in most of your videos. I previously worked in a major metropolitan sewer system and this kind of flooding can float up lots of untreated sewage and dangerous debris like glass and syringes that you won't see, which can float to you at speed when you unclog some of those grates. I encourage you to add proper gloves and heavy duty waders to your kit if you intend to keep doing this just for your own safety.

To be fair, I am sure the city workers themselves are not necessarily lazy, but the problem is that a significant portion of tax money is used to pay for administrative bureaucrats instead of actual workers.
