The German philosopher Goethe said, “I have not seen what I have not drawn.” Drawing is a very helpful way to see the world, clarify it, engage it, put our attention to it, and focus on it.
This month, I am doing a 30-day drawing challenge with my drawing students. I wanted to share a few of the drawings in this video. Although they're almost finished drawings, I view them as compositional studies for paintings. I share drawings of landscapes, interiors, and figures. They just have a way of helping you orchestrate and see the world before you begin to paint.
I used Blackwing Matte pencils and Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper for the drawing.
