It's a mindset more than anything 😂 Texas has ALOT of Texas pride... our flag is almost always the same level as the American flag and we say the texas pledge in school every morning right after the American pledge... as far as Texans are concerned if America goes to hell, we'll still be Texas... it's actually kinda wild to be honest 😅

@@majinjason It's in exactly the same place, between the two fangs. Note that the angle of the photo has changed so is some minor distortion but it seems clear to me where he hid that part, since it's the hardest part to hide.

Totally unrelated but - Texas: My neighbours daughter struggled in school and one day came home with a test where she had to name the Canadian Provinces. Instead of Saskatchewan she spelled Texas (I mean… can’t all 8 year olds trying to spell Saskatchewan relate😂) . My neighbour looks at me and asks with genuine concern on her face “where would she get Texas from?” as she is literally wearing a shirt with the outline of Texas and it’s name spread across of it.

@@bobtheball5384 It's pretty normal among comics and cartoons with children as the main characters, but it is pretty fucked if you think about it. Calvin's world is very similar to ours, too -- he has trouble in school, doesn't get along well with a lot of kids, and has to do a lot of things alone.

The drawing looks more real because they used brighter colors to make it more vivid. Same as when you edit a photo to pop more. It looks more real because it’s how our eyes see things, rather than how a camera sees it pre-editing.

Texans often still refer to Texas as a country. Like how ex presidents are still referred to as president. It's a respect/pride thing. Also, it really is like a different country and they do their own thing.

We have our own state power grid, freshwater aquifers, over 1million registered firearms, naval/port access, highest oil, agricultural and livestock production, three branches of state military and soon a strong southern border 🤞🤞

1st post: It's because they made the lighting more dynamic (bright reflections, dark shadows.) The photo is lit "flat" so it looks... _flatter_

the lightning cloud one is called an anvil crawler if i’m not mistaken. they “crawl” on clouds. normal lightning does move like that but it’s so fast the naked eye can’t see it. anvil crawlers move slow enough so you can see it

A lot of texans identify more with texas than america, and when traveling abroad will often respond to those asking where they are from as simply "Texas". Even those not in favor of being an independent country again do this. It is a culture thing.
