Let's face it, one of the joys of drawing comic book art is small art in small panels, right? Said no comic book artist ever!!! Seriously, drawing small can be quite a humbling experience. Every comic artists wants to draw big, huge exciting splash pages.
But smaller panels (and smaller art) helps give pages contrast in terms of variety of sizes, plus helps fit the story (where appropriate.) But for sure, drawing small takes a bit more concentration. What information do you draw, what do you leave out? How much detail is enough detail in a "small" drawing for a comic book panel?
In this short take time lapse video, I pencil the character Adon from my www.renearreol... comic book series. I also talk about what drawing small in comic book art is like.
