this may be a stupid question but why are you weighing your tires? I just don't understand the whole weight weening side of it, I ride dh and enduro so I usually ride with a minion DHR and DHF but even for XC tire weight wouldn't make much of a difference would it?
@dre_rowery
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have to agree that it is not super important to weight components, but from the other hand- when you have lots of pieces to select from- why not to do this? Why not looking for marginal gains. You can save up to 100g with only tires. I know it can sound kind of crazy for enduro or dh riders, but making your 10kg bike lighter by 100g with buying lighter components can cost you for example hundred dollars. Weighting tires costs you nothing, and rotating wheel weight is what you feel most while accelerating or riding uphill. I have to admit, that it only should work on easy, fast trails as lighter tires are probably not that strong. It’s all quite complicated, sometimes crazy, but that’s what dreambuilds are about.
@tobiassaunders5933

@@dre_rowery yeah dream builds are great because you can let your mind run wild! I and as a dh and enduro rider yes, i have never fully understood the point of everything being ultra light but each to their own. I'm currently making a dh hardtail which is the complete opposite of light! i've got a nuke proof steel frame with some 26 mavic deemax's and a rockshox boxxer on the way.

And with bikes, I am happy with Remedy 8, bike is not limiting the performance, its me again.
