I can't stop crying every time I listen to this damn song. This one, and "disappear" and "the spirit carries on". Goddammit.

What a great song! This should be played on radio stations. I actually wish all Dream Theater songs were played on the radio, but most people are too simple-minded for the complexity of their music.

Well i for one greatly admire Labrie he has triumphed over adversity superbly after his throat injury and never given up, he is a typical Taurus, how many singers would carry on after a throat injury? Not many, and his voice is good now, when you consider his age and what happened to his vocal chords, i think he sounds good, and very few singers have that emotional depth to their voice that he has. Peace people :)

People say that LaBrie is getting old and that's the reason for his vocal problems, but Geddy Lee is 10 years older and his also been singing his entire life in a band that demands it, and his voice it still powerful than ever, and its actually a joy to hear in concert (not on DVD's) unlike LaBrie's, which isn't necessarily bad, but just unpredictable.

I've played songs throughout their discography. Like Yste Jam and Fortune in Lies from WDADU, and so on, to songs like Outcry and Breaking all illusions. Like 2 or three songs from each album, except SFAM (I can play the entire album, albeit a few mistakes). I've done songs from BC and SL, Systematic Chaos, just random songs from all of the albums. The list would be pretty big.

2003-2006 were his best live performances post-rupture. By Octavarium his voice has been fully recovered, he's just gotten too old to really sustain it without it falling flat. The Score performance was spectacular, though.

it's sad how weak labrie's voice is now and you can clearly see and hear it at the end of the song. still a great singer though plus he's been taking good care of his voice for a while now, but i can't imagine what dream theater would have been with labrie's images and words voice power and range.

@txdrummerboy98 The timbre of the keyboard on the solo is just ridiculous, in my opinion... Not just in this music, but at all. For me it sounds like Jordan wanted his space on this music anyway. This sucks. For me it's a beautiful song and this keyboard just didn't matched with it. It sounds funny, not realistic, maybe 'unseemly' is the right word. I guess a piano, or maybe a guitar solo would fit better.
