Seems to me that Evil is like an intense toothache. Despite what you try, you cannot ignore it. You may dull it; but, it lingers constantly. The only solution for the pain is removal of the source. I also think of God's curse in Genesis, "Cursed is the ground because of you; With hard labor you shall eat from it All the days of your life." Is this referring to evil being released on the earth and thus hard labor is required to compensate for the evidentiary effects of evil (dull the ache)? Or is it more akin to no longer being in the free material provision of God and therefore we must rely on our own actions to sustain ourselves?
