I bought the plunge router attachment about 1 month ago two build a picture frame. If you are considering getting on save you money and buy a trim router and build a simple router table. The issues I ran into are: 1) the depth stop plastic nuts will not hold tight and vibrate loose, 2) the plunge feature is hard to lock and keep the depth uniform, 3) the cutting guides are very short and difficult to adjust

I 100% agree with this. Maybe the Demel versions are perfect for someone who makes miniatures, and the torque of even a trim router is too much for fragile pieces, but if someone is a general wood worker... buy a trim router, or a full sized router.

You would probably need to buy a luthier’s plunge router base for Dremel if you want more visibility.

If it's chard, it means the Dremel's speed itself too fast. Also, you have to go in stages.

Plunge is fine at $30ish if you have a Dremel already, the table is not worth it unless you are doing very small, delicate work. This is NOT a replacement for a real router. Even a trim/palm router is far better for almost everything. If you don't already own a Dremel, and just want to do light/medium duty router tasks, buy a real trim router - the Bosch Colt is a solid one.

This is really only good for model building and small inlay work.
