Drew is so funny! It’s been a couple years since I watched any of his stuff, but even if this is a more casual atmosphere, it’s incredible just how little Drew is stuttering. I can only imagine how difficult it has been over the years to relearn how to talk. Incredible that people can watch someone break a leg and when they can walk without crutches they think nothing of it, but when Drew has probably spent about 2-3 total years in hours of speech therapy to talk about as well as he used to, people think he’s a liar.

I had a mini stroke 5 almost 6 years ago and when I came out of it I had a stutter which drove me crazy because everything went through my head coherent but when I tried to say it , it was like my mouth and brain were not on the same wave length. It took almost 2 years to sound normal to myself and still have an occasional problem . I watched alot of drew standup on the internet while recovering and brought me so much inspiration while recovering. Just a good soul

A good friend of mine growing up had mild stutter, to the point he wouldn't speak in some situations. I'd sideline rip on him for being silent and eventually get him to laugh and relax. He was harder on himself than anyone else was. Good conversation is good conversation, no matter how its layed out

Drew, thank you so much for being so open about your mindset, challenges, and haters/critics. Still to this day reference your AGT debut to people who I think need inspiration and confidence in their life. Your description of "directing your life" is spot on for social anxiety. Keep being you!

It’s incredible how much his speech has improved. I used to watch his KZitem videos several years ago and even with cutting most of the stutter out of the videos he was pretty bad. If you didn’t know he was a stutterer now you probably wouldn’t think twice about it - lots of people stutter this much (or little) as they think about what they are going to say next. In fact my son stutters worse than this on occasion, but I never mention it to him because I don’t want it to be an issue for him.

Love you Drew! Everything you said about the disconnect, and not being able to just say want you want, and constantly thinking about how your going to say something is EXACTLY how I feel almost everyday. I also stutter due to TBI. Two TBI's infact to the same spot on back of my head. First happened in 4th grade, the stuttering went away in my late teens and after the second in my 30's it came back, worse than before. I'm 50 now and its not gotten any better.

Drew, I only recently heard about you .i went back to find the AGT piece you were in and, I can see the huge amount of work you have put in to improve your speech. I hope things continue to get better. I laughed so hard about your “my wife has adhd” skit, I too have adhd and it hit home so hard. I believe you are incredible at improve. You think so quick, deal with hecklers and jump into changed topics on stage so fast, just brilliant.

Thank you for having Drew Lynch on your show. He is an amazing person. The more I learn about his journey, the more impressed I become. From the moment he stepped out onto a stage to consciously embrace his challenges and use them to make people happy, he won. His development has progressed exponentially because he worked his ass off and never gave up. During his career, he was also continuing to live his life, pay bills, date, and interact with the people around him. Now, he is married and has a child, I believe. That is a whole other layer of becoming who he is now. I adore his comedy and his personality onstage. He has given himself permission to not be perfect. We should all be so lucky. I am sure he will only get better and better with time. I love his sassy smile and infectious laugh. Wouldn’t it be cool to be his neighbor? Or better yet, his friend. ❤ Brenda P

That's total bs that people were accusing Drew of faking. Ticks me off. My bio dad told me that I don't have seizures because mine isn't the one where I fall and shake. Mine is like a hiccup in my brain. (Myoclonic) When you have the hiccups, your diaphragm contracts hard. That's a myoclonic shock.

Thank you for adding your perspective to the comment section. People with real world experience with debilitating brain issues need to have their voices heard. The amount of ignorance in the world never ceases to amaze me: There are a few hacks / trolls here alleging Drew’s TBI is non-existent - a mere ploy to garner attention. And that is NOT funny. Likely they’re the same sort who go about harassing cardiac patients for having handicapped passes. I wish you the best. 🙂

Its understandable, some lack the ability to recognize and comprehend intention and purpose of even just a couple quotes from a video. Some find it difficult to acknowledge opposing statements or ideas on their own after receiving the information through a video. Then even some may still not possess the intelligence needed to discover and perceive an underlying meaning from information given through the form of a video then as a couple of quotes directly from said video pointing out something as simple as a contradiction.
