Hi Pete, I was told by the council we ERYC (I work for them) sold the bricks, judging by the pictures that obviously wasn’t. the case. Great video thanks for all your hard work 👍🏼

Great video, well done Pete. A couple of points of interest. On summer Saturdays a light engine was usually dispatched from Hull Dairycoates shed, running tender first and stationed at Market Weighton as a standby in case steam hauled trains running to the coast up Enthorpe Bank had trouble and needed banking assistance at the rear. The loco would then cross over to the Up line at Enthorpe SB and run back to Market Weighton right line. Enthorpe Bank was the favourite location for the local railway photographer, Neville Stead. Photographing the procession of steam hauled holiday trains grinding up the 1 in 95 gradient. Neville died last year and I understand his ashes have been scattered in Enthorpe Cutting.

Thank you for the comment. I met the current owners at Enthorpe, and they gave me a copy of a booklet about Mr. Stead published for his funeral. It contains a number of unpublished photos he took. its going to be well looked after.

Used to ride our motorbikes and drive our banger cars from Enthorpe to Goodmanham and Market Weighton from the mid 70,s to mid 80’s there was drop down from the cutting even then 50 years ago and the line as we know it was used as a rally stage over that period and we put a memorial rally on for a well known Rally Driver who owned the old railway line in 2013 and ran the stage again from Goodmanham to where you showed the farmers crossings on the Enthorpe embankment and up through the fields to the road .

The stage started where the last crossing was before you got to the bridges we were responsible for some of the demolition of the bridges 😩

I will ask our bridges department as to whether the council are responsible for this and the road bridge at Goodmanham, my thinking is that ERYC are.
