Yeah no boiling doesn't help. I boiled my wood pieces for several hours a day for a few days to release as much of the tannins as possible. Still got the fungus after a few days in the tank.

Agreed! Same here. My tanks still cycling, it took about 3 days for the fungus to form. I boiled the wood for about 4 hours, in 6 different batches of water (to release as much tannins as possible)

Ironically I also have this problem in my Pea Puffer Tank. That's because i cant put any type of fish in there to help out or shrimp because the puffer will kill them.

I just let it go away naturally...takes a little bit, but I would just net/suck it up or clean off the wood. Good video BTW👍🏻

Thanks man! I've had 3 planted tanks and only got crazy fungus on this last one, so I was kinda shocked. I almost got a clean-up crew to use temporarily since the tank is only 7 gallons.

So does your wood fungus after you boil it or not?

@@adkaquatics212 Once I have boiled it, it no longer mushrooms in the aquarium. I never had any problems with that.

Before putting wood into the tank, i boil it firts, so that it doesn't get mossy/fungus when put into the tank. Yeah success for you👍

@@loladiarychannel9195 I guess that makes sense because they are close relatives to mollies
