@42blackwatch I am quite shocked by your comment... You are right with the wrong belt, but only the bayonet belt is wrong. Its not the right width and we cannot put the bayonet the right way. Moreover, we don't have the bayonet belt plates yet so we cannot adjust the length of it, so its why its hanging too low. The pants are way to low, I agree with you, we should not be able to see the shirt, but we had troubles with this canvas which tend to shrink a lot...

@24thRegt To turn you do not use both heels. You use your sole of one foot and the heel of another. It basic drill and is learnt when your even in the cadets. Here is a video of Air cadets doing basic drill /watch?v=FpWaza_-XXI.

This drill is from the early 1800s and is not going to be the same. Having worked as part of a squad at a National historic site, I can tell you his drill is correct. everything rotates arount the left heel so the line stays in place and proper dressing is maintained.

@jdi0093113 Now, yes. 200 years ago, no. This is the drill as regulated in the early 19th century. You cannot use modern cadet training to judge accuracy of 200 year old maneuvers.

you use your sole and heels to pivot and move. I find his turning to the side and around very funny. Looks like me on the first day of marching. To turn right it would be right heel and left sol, turn and bring in your left leg. You would set the bayonet in the sheath and then push in.

@42blackwatch Indeed we have a facebook group, but its in french. We don't have the 1824 manual, only the booklet with the pictures. And for the queens regulations, its for 1844 so we don't know what applies in 1839.

@42blackwatch The tuffs on the shakos changed from the tall one to the pompom in 1836. As for the many comments on the drill, I think you are right with everything. This video was made 2 years ago and some of the mistakes are fixed now. We have been working since 4 years on this regiment, but has I said, this is a work in progress. We worked really hard on the pattern of the coat. The next thing to be fixed now are the trousers. Every comment that can help us to improve is always welcomed.

@ jdi0093113 - The thing is with this is that it's footdrill from a previous era. Modern British army foot drill is ceremonial - (check out the "Unfix bayonet" from the L7A2 SLR & compare it to the "Unfix bayonet" from the L85A1 SA80)- the drills in those days were practical as opposed to ceremonial. Modern infantry don't wear their fighting equipment for drill- in the 1800's drill was essential in co-ordinating massed formations of troops in battle.

@24thRegt Have you got perhaps a link or PDF file you could send to me of the drill manual? It would be a great help. Thanks.

@42blackwatch Has for the chevrons, we corrected that. And I don't see where there is mistakes in the drill, according to my knowledge, this is right. Recreating this Regiment is a work in progress and I take your comment with interest, but I would be pleased to see a 1840 regiment better put together than our.
