Sounds abit like a V6 revving up in 2nd gear, gotta love that noise, makes you feel your driving something a lot faster even though your only doing like 40 or 50mph, hee-haw can compare to that exaggerated feeling, pure class the 2cv and yeah Citroen will most likely not build something with quite so much creativity ,character and down right versatility as this, I mean look at it you can use it as a van, a pickup, a car, it has a full sunroof, easy to take apart, back seats came out on the originals, so practical for it's day and even today whilst it is undoubtedly very crude by modern car standards, it pioneered a lot of modern features that we now take for granted, the guys who designed this really put in some effort, shame Citroen don't have the quirkiness they were once so well renowned for, they were different and that was what made them interesting and gave people other options who wanted to be different than everyone else, only thing a 2cv needs in the modern world is a radio, and some airbags, really there's not much else the modern car has at it's disposal that you can't live without.

When I had a GSA back in 83 the Citroen publicity for the air-cooled engines included stories of owners running their cars low on oil without damage. The message being the bearings were really over specced for the job

***** I live in Argentina, when they released the 3cv here a cars magazine made an event to prove the 3cvs durability, it went on a 6 hour long race, only stopping for refueling and changing drivers. Obviously there was not a huge difference between 2cv and 3cv, they're both little battle tanks :) My only dislike is that it tends to be a little noisy for my personal taste, but some insulating materials can be placed to reduce the noise. My favorite characteristic about these cars is the ability to go offroad with extreme ease (at its own pace). Thanks for uploading this, I've seen your Ami 8 video and the Citroen DS one, amazing. What's your opinion on the Renault 4?
@TheDiskins

s4n714g000 I love the Renault 4, it's alot more car than a Citroen A-model. The early Renault 4 has the best looking front. I guess it's more like a Peugeot 204 but with not as good handling as a Peugeot.

No self cancelling indicators, single speed wipers, fresh air through a flap under the windscreen, no interior light, no synchromesh on 1st gear, cruising speed of 50 mph, feeble headlights, but it did have a starting handle that you could start it with if the battery was flat. Drove one for 5 years and loved every minute.

Pedro, it’s deliberately offset like this to allow for comfortable cruising. You can put your left hand on the steering wheel spoke and your elbow on the door on straight roads where little turning of the wheel is required. It’s orientated this way on left-hand drive cars and the mirror image on right-hand drive versions.

the engine does need working hard to gain speed. but its a fantastic sounding engine its one of the strongest engines ever made run them flat out all day wont blow up not many can do that. citroen will never build a car like this again. fragile car but it can do alot of things a modern car cant do. eg go across a field without breaking an egg. such a simple car too. no radiotor. no distributor wasted spark system. and a top speed of 70mph mostly and still get 50mpg.

The 2CV is the better "Jeep" ever made and moreover realy much comfortable ! And.. if a gouvernement would offer a new electrical 2 CV, today at a price between 2 Th. Euros or a Th. of Pounds to everyone i think we shouldn't have problems with ecological or road directives anymore !Une 2 cv (électrique ou...

The steering wheel has only one bar (arm). When riding straight, it should be directed exactly down (to the driver). The steering wheel holds a single nut - unscrew, pull out the steering wheel, fit the steering wheel correctly, tighten the nut, done.
