@@billbrasky8525 Why? You do not like shopping malls?? I thought in such cold place you need options of being indoors..for being around people /eating out.. So, what do you have? Any nice community spaces there??
@billbrasky8525

@@joang.6664 Malls are ugly and usually require the construction of unsightly parking lots that waste space. How about just going out to a friend/family’s house and visiting there instead? Whitehorse is surrounded by natural beauty and should be embraced as the wilderness city that it is. The world was doing just fine before malls came along (actually, much better) and being around other people shouldn’t necessitate corporate infrastructure vying for your wallet while you do so. Spend less, live more. And while we’re on the topic, leave your phone at home too.

@@billbrasky8525 Bill, I apologise.. Your point well taken, I personally agree. I 'm not a fan of commercialism and flat soulless distracting energy of most malls.. You are absolutely on point that people should just spend time with each other.. On human basis. To clarify, I live in Vancouver, for many years, originally mixed European.Yes, Van has tons of malls and big stores.. But not enough soul and human interaction, aside from occasional chit chat or (rarely) meaningful conversation with people i meet on the skytrain or around coffee shops.. I am very curious about life in other canadian cities, and until now knew nothing about Whitehorse. Are you from Wh.? What is the vibe like, what do you like about the city, the people, amenities?
@billbrasky8525

@@joang.6664 No apologies necessary Joan! I was simply making an argument and it probably came off a little too strong. Yes, I was born and raised in Whitehorse so I felt credible speaking about this question. If you live in Van and are used to meeting people on the sky train and at coffee shops I would suggest you try and join a team sport if you ever move up here. Whitehorse has very limited pubs and cafes to socialize in (Baked, Dirty Northern, Gold Rush, etc) and a public transit system that is rarely used by the working class. The weather is just as cold as the conversation so make sure you try and establish yourself in the community through other means (mountain biking, xc skiing, outdoor soccer and baseball, those sorts of things)

It does look fast, but in Steve's defense I have taken videos through my front windscreen and everything looks speeded up when viewed later, even when I'm driving the speed limit. It's something about the perspective, I guess.

The speed is deceptive because of the wide angle lens, it makes things look faster than it realy is.
