This was a very interesting topic that i would love to look into more. The four different driving styles mentioned were things that I had not considered in relation to personality traits.

I knew it! I’ve been saying this for years 😅 Thank you for the video.

I'ts an interesting video. I have a man around me who is obviously an avoidant. And one of the first things that surprised me was the big difference between his behaviour in his car and the rest of the time. Indeed, while driving, he would seem so confident, driving quite fast but still rather safely, well I would say a good driver who takes some risks sometimes for his pleasure, and looking very enthousiastic while driving, like excited. And the rest of the time, well this person would always walk fast, looking at his feet, never smiling, never excited, Always rather quiet in a corner of a room. That was surprising to me. At that time I did not know anything about AVPD. Thank you Mr Grande anyway.

After borrowing a big Dodge SLT long bed from a friend, I found out why some truck owners can appear to drive like a-holes. If you drive "normal", people constantly cut in front of you, or block you from changing lanes even if you use turn signals. In a normal vehicle, that would be like "whatever" ... but other drivers don't realize how much more challenging it is to drive a large vehicle. You need more room to change lanes, and you need more room to stop. I now can see why some truck owners become aggressive. That said, why do they ALL chose to drive a big truck and not uses their signals when their truck bed is empty 90% of the time?

The five-factor model is very interesting! I can see myself in a cross between two different types.

This association of driving styles and personality traits is fascinating.

This was a good video I found it interesting that a persons personality changes behind the wheel because of anonymity

How about other settings where anonymity is a big part of the picture: dark movie theatres, crowded stadiums, large apartment buildings and office buildings, shopping malls, state fair grounds, airports...similar results? Any studies?

I would like to introduce one more driving style: intolerant. This would be closer to how I would categorize myself. I would be very curious about your opinion. I'll start with my general environment, general experience and demeanor. I live rural where we have all 4 seasons and typically, I travel at a speed that generally higher than the posted speed limit. The exception of course is in inclement weather which is when I typically slow down to the speeds of the yellow recommended speeds. Otherwise, I will take that number and add 10-15 (experience has taught me that a 15 or 25 mph corner is pretty much exactly that however.) For the 25 years driving experience, I have had regional driving jobs requiring anywhere from 50~250 miles daily. One year I put 52k on a work truck. And generally commute around 30 miles per day. I have yet to hit any large game. I have had 2 collisions: 1- where I was waiting for a careful driver to go by (could have entered but decided to be courteous) and didn't look again (because they were about 1/4 mile away the first time I looked); 2- over confidence for the road conditions. There was about 8" of slush outside of the tire grooves on the freeway and I had been changing lanes and 50mph for the previous 15 miles. I kept the vehicle in my lane for about 1/4 keeping it from a full spin-out until I couldn't keep it in my lane anymore. I am an observer and drive with accuracy. I watch and analyze other drivers' behaviors and styles over the course of miles to determine the competency and the decision making ability they have. Generally, my speed puts me in the passing lane but I also pay attention behind me and if someone wants to travel faster, go ahead. I'll move to another lane (exception would be carpool lane). I have definitely noticed that those in the front are typically not the best drivers. It's usually 3-4 vehicles behind them that are or the ones in the back of the line. I make calculated movements for flow of traffic, annoyance, or for safety, and weigh that against the time and distance left to travel (In other words, is it worth it?) Basically, I don't put up with games and crap. I'll just go around asap and position myself to keep ahead (or manipulate traffic to stay ahead... or try to.) Now, here are some personality assessment numbers www.understandmyself.com Big 5: O94 Intellect: 89 Openness: 90 C17 Industriousness: 50 Orderliness: 5 E12 Enthusiasm: 6 Assertiveness: 31 A26 Compassion: 4 Politeness: 76 N5 Withdrawl: 19 Volitility: 1 MBTI: (athletic) INTP (5w4) I - 55% E - 43% N - 57% S - 35% T - 47% F - 29% P - 67% J - 26%

Where would the "gamer" type of driver land? Only seen on freeways, they seem to quickly gauge the traffic's predictability and smoothly glide through open spaces to move through traffic. They seem to anticipate traffic flow better and arent reckless just slightly faster than the herd they move through. May or may not use signals, can be in car or motorcycle. They may end up in accidents, I just haven't witnessed one in 40 years on road.

Oh my lord, this is exactly what triggered me back into PTSD a little while ago. After being no-contact with my entire family for two years I read in the newspaper my cousin burned a red-light on his motorcycle 3am directly into a van, killing himself at 26. Don't click the link if you don't want to see the result of reckless driving style, thats my cousins leg on the ground: www.mtlblog.com/news/deadly-motorcycle-accident-in-montreals-west-island-video Mother fkn life. This is why I stopped driving twenty years ago.. I had more than enough accidents during bouts of borderline rage, the last one was too close to go on. Today i don't even get into someone else's car.
