Given that it's probably a Mack engine and what appears to be an 8-speed, it should be about 500-600 rpm between gears, with 4th and 8th having a slightly wider spread (~100 rpm difference). I used to drive the 06 Granite when I first got my license, so I got pretty familiar with them

On newer trucks you only have to use the clutch to shift one time, after your moving you shift between 1400-1800 RPM and it shifts easily. I'm not sure how it does it but that's why it does it.

mrcctvb Shifting w/out using a clutch has been around since I've started driving over 20 years ago. On Detroit', Cummins, and Cat's I find that (floating) shifting with out a clutch is a bit easier than Mack's. Macks have to be shifted at a much higher RPM (1600-2100) than most other big Diesels. I can shift either way but I find it easier to shift with the clutch on the Mack I drive today and it's about the same year. Just go with what works as every truck is different. Just my 2c's worth.

mrcctvb Its called floating, a lot of drivers do this, saves on a lot of double clutching

pues que mal que opera la transmision el colega porque el cambio de rango de marchas de baja a alta se activa en marcha y no en neutro

Hey, just wanted to know, on your truck, do you have a hesitation when you throttle up on the last three gears? On the Granite I drive, it seems to struggle on the last three gears when I'm trying to build up speed. Just wondering if it's a Mack thing or what? My only experience with Mack is with this company I'm with now. So it's a bit limited. Thanks. Keep on Truckin'!

You aren't going to be happy when you have back box issues from not preselecting your range. Get out of the habit selecting in neutral

Do you happen to know the rear end ratio? I noticed your tach was at 1800 RPM at 65 MPH. It's just about outside of the engines torque curve.
