This place and the scenery is just stunning. But the driving is erratic. Why on the bends do you veer in to the middle of the road. Too many drivers in Ghana lack road sense, this is why there are so many avoidable, accidents Things need to change. I ❤ Ghana !

Is only fools who will drive carelessly on such mountainous roads. A little carefulness in fifteen minutes you're done.

The roads need barriers and also need light so people driving at night know where they are going. And maybe they should build train stations for people who don’t want to drive

You mean what you said? What disrespect is that. Have you been on that road before? There's no danger if you drive carefully. Check which country has street light on mountain roads like this. The narrator is just being dramatic. He's just being alarmist.

@Elliot Vulley do you know health and safety? And yes,I have drive on that road several times, it needs lighting and barrier.people like are the reason we Africans are going backwards. In uk,the is a road like that call snake pass,from Leeds on top to Derby in the south.

I disagree. It is the countryside. Today there is a big problem with light pollution which is causing havoc on nature 'Cats eyes reflectors' on good roads, good signage, crash barriers, run offs, roadworthy vehicles and good road sense will counter any problems

@mafiooato7233 I am afraid you cannot convince me about the lights and i strongly oppose them on this stretch. What we need is innovative solutions that have a low impact on the environment. Snake pass being the best road is news to me and how exactly do you measure that ? It does have notoriety because of its twists and turns and being at altitude but is also revered due to stunning scenery and enjoyed by thrill seekers. But as good it is, it is one of the first roads in uk to be closed during inclement weather. So i guess we are assessing it on safety which makes it far from the best but probably good for its type. Motorways surprisingly are some of the best roads as they are generally straight built to avoid head on collisions as you can overtake without driving in to oncoming traffic. On the road in question there are crash barriers and you can see them throughout the video. Run off areas are also good and can mitigate the impact of driving errors and mechanical faults allowing a errant vehicle to stop in good time. Just to note solid crash barriers also become dangerous at high speeds because the car and its passengers take all the impact. The better solutions are effective breaking and driving with due care at lower speeds But lights as indicated can have the opposite effect. Giving drivers a false confidence to drive at higher speeds. Higher speeds need greater stopping distances, make crash barriers less effective and the result is vehicles arent prevented from ending up falling down those precipitous drops. Those drops being the most signficant danger feature of this road. Something lighting has very little impact upon There are also road markings and signage but drivers tend to not pay attention them. The road surface is of a reasonable quality. You say value life and that is the message that needs to go to those careless drivers. You drive according to the circumstances. Most accidents are from human error, you cant fall off a cliff if you are stationary but speed and lack of due care multiply those risks exponentially. We can have a look at statistics and i am sure we will see despite its pecipitous drops this road is not as bad as the Accra to Kumasi road accepted it that maybe partly due to volume of traffic. But this is a decent road and far better than what you see in places like Peru or Pakistan and other parts of the world. The issue is primarily and i say this most emphatically the drivers and road worthiness of vehicles This has been a concern for me for decades. We even created a road safety campaign video which can be viewed on my youtube channel (i dont care about hits but getting this message across)

There should be a solid concrete wall
@kwawkwansah2452

A concrete wall would only cause more problems. A collision bringing a car to an almost immediate stop causes more damage. Not to mention concrete is unsightly. What is required are run off areas and anything that can slow vehicles down in the event of a mishap. But safe sensible driving in roadworthy vehicles trumps all

Hmmmm, I think the maker of this video just made it to just say what he wanted to say....He had only done less than a minute of the trip and started talking about lack of road signs.... However I could count as many road signs. ..Ghanaians, we know how to talk. Put the road sign there, and same Ghanaian will cut it off at night and sell as scraps. As someone mentioned, it is only a fool who will endanger his or her life on such a good road.
