I have watched all of your 2023 videos of this journey setting out from Florida all the way to the Arctic Ocean. Absolutely wonderful footage with your various cameras, editing skills and great narration. It certainly brings back the memories of when I did this journey in 1988/89/90 in my trusty 1969 VW campervan which, as a Dutch Australian I bought in San Francisco and drove it to Alaska. Apparently, when I arrived in Fairbanks I was told that the Dalton Highway was not open to the public so after driving all the accessible roads of Alaska including to Homer, Seward, Valdez and the old abandoned Kennicott Copper Mine buildings at McCarthy I drove to Dawson City in Yukon and did a similar drive up the Demster Highway to Inuvik as the northern most point of the road in North America at the time. You mentioned that it would be amazing to go all the way to Ushuaia at the bottom of South America. Well I did that and alone on limited funds but a big adventurous spirit. It's a long amazing story, too much to tell here, but needless to say South America and Central America was truly spectacular indeed in the 80's. I managed to get VW Brazil to rebuild my VW campervan twice with new engines and much more as well as a free trip on a car carrier to Europe where I continued the journey with the intention to cross the Sahara Desert and the Congo River to South Africa and then also to cross Siberia. Unfortunately my magnificent trusty VW (HOME) campervan (uninsured) was stolen in Seville Spain which was disastrous. This completely changed my life of course. But it is wonderful to see people such as yourself using all this current technology to bring about beautiful videos of your travels inspiring me to remember that amazing journey. I look forward to watching the rest of your Alaska trip and then I will watch all your other travel videos. Well done to you. Thank you so much. Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia.

Robert next time Before you take a long trip that you know will be very dirty have both the truck and mini tini coated. That way when you wash the dirt will come off much easier. if you are keeping the truck for a long time you should have the front of your truck wrapped with paint protection film to save your Paint.

When I was in the Up of Michigan last week at was at a gas station that was tricky to figure out how the pump worked. There was no credit card slot there was none of that regular or premium what I am used to. I had to go in and pay afterwards. I am sure the pumps are like that in the remote parts of Alaska too.

44:48 Congrats on the trip north. I’ve been to Alaska 5 times visiting new and repeat locations. Saw mount McKinley both times when attempted. Quite the mountain. Drove only to Artic circle sign and turned around. Wasn’t interested in the dead horse visit. First trips up Alcan 1971/1973 when it was all gravel. Finally drove top of world road from Tok to Dawson city and down to Skagway. Rode the narrow gauge train to lake Bennett and back on a day trip. Taken Alaska ferry many times thru se Alaska as well

Kudos and thanks for posting this trip. I live in Washington, and your trip has shown me that there is nothing that would make me want to take that trip.
