The time has finally come. The first ever engine swap is complete. And after a total of 4 occasionally frustrating hours the h22a has dropped into the ek civic hatch. The engine is a tight fit, and i mean tight, almost concerning. but it works and i am glad to have reached this milestone. Quickly going over the episode in the beginning i complete some additional sound deadening on the rear end panels. First, i seal it with some leftover por15 to ensure a stronger barrier against moisture. I also used some Krown lubricant oil to double up on protect. I am paranoid of rust and don't want all that hard work to be spoiled by rust. so hopefully, fingers crossed I have done a good enough job preventing that issue. Anyways after that, I moved onto the engine. Basically rethreaded all the bolt housings to make it easier to install the brackets while the engine was going to be dropped into place. Avoiding cross threading is important at this point. The engine was tough, especially because you cannot hit it straight up and level and drop it. the transmission end has to drop to the ground on a 45-degree angle and then you can balance out the rest bit by bit. I mounted the driver side mount first to help guide the rest, the transmission was second then the rear mount. All and all a long 4 hours but definitely a learning experience. Hope you like it because I am stoked for what's next.
