awesome to see someone else fishing these old workhorses! I have 6 or 7 304s a 314 and a 305 (for lefties). design is simple and unbeatable. coolest part is someone else was catching fish with this 70 plus years ago

Completely agree. There's a certain magic that comes with vintage equipment, whether it be reels cars or guitars, they're full of stories. That CAP/304 design is so elegant and timeless, the hypnotic clicking on the retrieve is just icing on the cake. I'd love to see a reel company come out with an updated/modernized version the way some companies clone Abu Ambassadeurs.

Nice to know we have warm water fish here in Lakewood. I live in Wheat Ridge near Lakeside amusement park . Lots of carp.

It can definitely be tough finding them in the Denver area, I see lots of poor pond/lake management unfortunately. But its not all bad!
